Calzaghe vs Pavlik

who do you think would win if they were both in there prime's at the same time?

I think that it would go all 12 rounds and even though Pavlik is my favorite fighter of all time i believe Calzaghe would take this one.

Infact, he may beat Kelly's ass even worse than Bernard did. Considering Hopkins at this stage of his career is a much more defensive fighter than he was years ago.

Calzaghe on the other hand, knows nothing about the defensive game. His defense, is his swarming offense.

It may end up looking like Calzaghe/Jones 2.

Pavlik can't fuck with the Elites, especially if they have lateral movement.

It would have to be at 168 obviously and at that weight Calzaghe would have to be careful early on, but id expect him to be too fast, too big, too ring savvy, he would box pavlik's ears off no doubt about it, I think calzaghe pre-hand trouble would stop him in the later rounds

Exactly, Pavliks game is offense and he gets completely screwed when fighters use lateral movement it takes away his 1-2.

I may go so far as to say in Joe's prime so what 29-31? When he was punching with a little bit of authority (he never was a huge hitter he could put someone down though) he may even stop Pavlik on accumulation.

Although I do believe if Hopkins was fighting Pavlik at 31 he would KO him also

I guess, given his record and the HBO backing he had. But in terms of serious depth and talent, I never considered Jermain an Elite guy. Not on the level of a Hopkins, Jones, Mayweather, Calzaghe, type fighter anyway. Those are guys I consider Elites.

I could agree on that. Calzaghe and Hopkins would both likely stop Kelly on accumulation. I think Kelly's got a pretty solid set of whiskers on him, and I don't see him going down and not getting back up.

But he's such a hittable target for a prime fighter like a Calzaghe, or a Hopkins, that it's really inevitable. Someone would have to stop it.

All i know is pavlik is still in reach look at george foreman the guys like 60 and is tryin to get back into boxing (not saying he'll get any where) but what if calzaghe comes back and wants to fight pavlik he'll be rusty and pavlik could have a chance. I KNOW THIS MOST LIKELY WILL NOT HAPPEN!!!!
