Why can't people remember this when scoring fights.....

100%. I have bitched and moaned about this in the past. Two great examples are Mayweather-Castillo I and Jones-Tarver I.

Yeah stealing rounds glad somebody finally said it. Most ppl complain when they don't write down how they scored the fight as it goes along and only remember the rounds won big by sometimes the losing fighter.

Are you talking about "comparison" rounds. Kind of the way Lderman gave Margarito a round in the Mosley fight? If so, I agree, that is ******

That's the thing with some people, some people count damage more than ring generalship and vice-versa. No two people score a fight the same exact way. For example, some people say Castillo clearly beat Casamayor, but I thought Casa did a good job of carrying Castillo and outboxing him.

its safe to say every round counts the same unless theres a knockdown(s) or in some cases domination is thorough.

People sometimes get carried away looking at punchstats too without considering the fights are scored by rounds and the total is usually meaningless. Using an extreme example say that in a 10 round fight, boxer 'A' lands 5 punches per round which equals 50 total. Boxer 'B' doesn't land a single punch for the first 9 rounds but then goes off and lands 100 in the final round which means he outlanded fighter 'A' by double. Fighter 'B' clearly loses the fight despite the higher punch output.

Exactly..... I mean you can kick my ass one round... The next round I come out and eak the round.....

But the ass kicking you gave me.. and the round that I BARELY won count the same....

I just dont understand why people who watch boxing do not get this concept....

Hatton Collazo is a good example of this. Collazo kicked his ass in rounds 5, 6, 7, and 12, but didn't win enough of the overall rounds. I think round 2 is the only round besides those above where I thought he won it.

Why can't people remember this when scoring fights.....
