Big fights are usually on Saturday, often people are drunk when watching those fights this I think can account for some of the questionable scoring of fights. If they watched the fight later when they are of sound mind they may see it differently....it's happened to me before.

The judges score card is all that matters. Fu*ck what people say. Sad but true.

actually I think the opposite is true....all that matters is the over all perception fans have of a fighter and score cards and records don't really matter.

This is an excellent point. I know I get my drink on a bit half of the time watching these fights. I always watch them again the next day with sound mind though.

Im just saying in the end...What i think and you think dont matter. The score does matter and the judges give them scores. The poster was saying what people think; How can the scorecards not matter?

But sometimes the court of public opinion means more than anything.....

I find Compubox stats to be irritating. They throw me off in my scoring, especially when I'm convinced that a fighter won a round based on whatever factor was most prominent (i.e. aggression, hard punches, more punches, less punches but accurate potshotting, etc. - I, personally, look for aggression and punches thrown). Actually, I find Lederman irritating as hell too! I try not to even pay attention to his cokehead scoring most of the time.

Also, I have this habit of scoring blocked punches... I mean, it's hard to tell sometimes so I just go with what I'm seeing and hearing (if I hear any kind of "clack", I'm scoring that ****). Do any of you lot score blocks? It's thrown and hits something, right...? If fighter A is just walking backwards the whole time and throwing 5 punches per round, whilst fighter B comes forward and throws a lot punches which clack the guy's gloves/shoulders/elbows half the time, it at least shows me that he's actually making more of an effort to fight (fighter B, that is).

I will give you a recent example, in the Martinez/Cintron fight the cards said that fight was even and Martinez is seen now as a top fighter at 154. So since the fight on the official score card said it was a draw shouldn't Cintron be seen as a top fighter at 154? I mean the cards say they are of equal ability right? No, because fans saw it different and think Cintron is a *****.
