Blah, I am done with this.

seriously he took a knee to get a breather like every fighter ****ing does when they are tired. and he got RIGHT BACK UP before his uncle stepped in.

        Yeah Cotto quit.

His trainer held the towel up to get his attention and Cotto signaled "yes" to him.

he def. took a knee there but when in the **** did he say NO or even shake his head he never did that even with the video you posted sorry brah but you are wrong.
I understand that....clearly. If that is the case he would of argued the point at time of stoppage and during interview. Which he has yet disputed. Holly hell you cant see that? look at the Poll

Just cause somebody doesnt argue means he quit? What if he knew the towel was a good idea cause he had nothing left? That makes him a quitter?
And the poll doesnt impress me. The average IQ is 100, on BoxingScene its probably closer to 95. People like that hold no influence over me.

The word "quit" is a four letter word in boxing, and I know I keep going back to Duran, but thats what people think of: A guy who gave up before he was defeated, when he still had gas in the tank. Cotto was simply beaten to tatters of a man, and even then whether or not he was willing to stop is up for debate.
Good post. As I emphasized before the word "quit" has negative associations attached to it and hence the reason people are trying to push it onto Cotto. Of course quitting isn't always a bad thing. I would hope no one would call someone who gave up a life threatening activity such as smoking a "quitter". You could easily substitute the word "quit" with "discontinue" since they mean the same thing but the latter doesn't necessarily draw negative feelings. If I use that term instead you might ask why? What was the alternative? Opposed to "quit" which people will automatically associated with disgracefulness.
