Barrera vs. Khan: Marco - "I'll End Amir Like Hamed"
Collapse

I don't know if he can pull it off, but Barerra has alot left in him to beat Amir Khan. Everybody forgot he gave the current P4P #2 all he can handle in their fight. And he prove yet again he can still hang with the best of them when he fought PACMAN the second time, he prove he's not shot but he's just old, preventing PacMan winning a KO win. Unlike Morales who is shot multiple times with a ******* quitting in just 3 round in their fight vs PacMan.Comment

I hate it when people compare khan and hamed. They are totally different fighters.
If barrera thought hamed was fast, he ain't seen nothing yet. Khans faster than pacquiao. Khans only chance is his speed. But i feel barrera with his wealth of experience will adapt to khans speed by about the middle rounds. Khans best chance might be to get him out of there early!Comment

A tremendously talented ****, though. In his early career no one could land a clean punch on him. But by the time of the Barrera fight, he'd already blown his talent. He fell in love with his power and neglected his training and his boxing skills in his last few fights.
But Barrera comparing Hamed with Khan is silly - not only do they have totally different styles, but Hamed is 5'4"; Khan is 5'10".Last edited by Dave Rado; 03-09-2009, 07:35 AM.Comment

Stewart is a great trainer, but he wasn't made Hamed's sole trainer, more of a consultant, and Hamed didn't listen to him anyway. Stewart threatened to quit several times in frustration over Hamed refusing to train properly, or to do any serious sparring. And it was a farcical corner, with different cornermen giving contradictory instructions.i watched hamedv barrera last night and watched hamed vs kelly before it and naz looked totaly differnt!!!! his body was softa his face looked gornt and pasety ................ prime example of what happens when you start belive your own hype and hire a yes man trainer like stewart !!!!!!!!............... but even that naz only lost by 3 points and wasnt hurt once ..................... the naz trained by ingle wud of beat barrera imo !!!!!!!!!
Hamed had already started to decline well before the Kelley fight - Kelley could never have hit Hamed flush before Hamed fell in love with his power and started to neglect his boxing skills.
I agree the pre-decline Hamed would have been a completely different fighter against Barrera, and far more competitive. Whether he'd have won is hard to say, as Barrera is an ATG fighter, but it would certainly have been a very different and much more competitive fight.Last edited by Dave Rado; 03-09-2009, 07:59 AM.Comment

ljust ooking at some of the comments below, which make me chuckle. especially the guy which calls world boxing legend and 3 weight world champ barrera a "clown". if barrera is a clown then khan is one of his jugling balls pal!! khan is nothing more than a very over rated, over hyped no mark. he's fought nomarks and the last half decent person he fought made him eat canvas in 54 seconds. he then fights a school teacher and a win over him warrents him to fight a 3 time world champ.....joke!! what you have to realise is that khan will never ever make a world champ, only if someone vacates a belt and as usual he fights a nomark and then ducks anyone who challenges him. khan will never be in the same league as marquez, diaz, katsidis, cassaymo, campbell, guzman, would you like me to carry on? he can't take a punch and has never knocked anyone out with one punch. Barrera will take a few licks, granted, but eventually he'll catch khan and as usual khan will be canvas bound and then we'll see whi the real clown is.
