He was never a ripped guy and adding even more pounds to fight Adamek would even be worse for his body. Johnson would have given him problems as well because of it. Dawson is bigger, faster, stronger and has fought about 6 southpaws as a professional and even more in the armatures.
dont be silly, calzaghe would slap the **** out of dawson.

watch tarver vs johnson 3 years ago and tell me dawson did better than tarver did against an even older johnson. calzaghe is 10X better than tarver too.

Calzaghe occassionally got caught too square on against counter-punchers even **** ones like Kabrary Salem and got nailed.

But.........he is a better fighter than Adamek.

Calzaghe's punch resistance improves as a fight goes on. If Adamek doesn't land a bingo punch early, he's just not good enough to beat Calzaghe.

Joe Calzaghe is an elite fighter, you can say he slaps, gets caught square on. But he is.......very very very good, pretty much a fact.

As long as Calzaghe doesn't get caught with Adamek's right hand, which isn't a certainty because Adamek is an underrated counterpuncher with that right hand, would probably outwork Adamek to a decision, Adamek is a very economical puncher, he's been involved in a lot of very exciting fights but his punch output has been surprisingly low so I think Calzaghe wins a decision but if Adamek lands his right hand flush, he could be in trouble.

Calzaghe wins I think. He has a great chin and has showed in the past that he has what it takes in terms of handspeed, adaptability and workrate to pull out the decision against a hard-working and tough guy like Adamek. The only unknown factor is the weight step up which means it is not a lock but I would definately be picking Calzaghe to win this. Not that that means a great deal seeing I know jack ****.

I hate Calzaghe but I gotta take him this fight. Handspeed, handspeed, handspeed.

Watching him fight, then making an educated guess.

Calzaghe is much quicker but Adamek comes on late and keeps his power.

It wouldn't be easy for Joe, he can dust him all night long but can he keep Adamek off late?
