I'd rather beat Glen Johnson in a close decision who KO'd Roy Jones, than get dropped by a shot Roy Jones in Rd1. Dawson-Tarver and Calzaghe-Jones had some parallels but Dawson beat a champion and Calzaghe beat a name.

I Agree, Calzaghe naturally is not as big or tall as Dawson is and he doesn't have the power and i don't think he would have the speed at cruiser weight. Adamek is simply too big and powerful and Joe often abandons his defense and the times i did see him get hurt, he doesn't know how to clinch. He just brawls.

Dawson would beat Calzaghe too. Honestly i think if Joe stayed at light heavyweight, i think his size would have eventually caught up with him against fighters that would use their size to their advantage. He was never a ripped guy and adding even more pounds to fight Adamek would even be worse for his body. Johnson would have given him problems as well because of it. Dawson is bigger, faster, stronger and has fought about 6 southpaws as a professional and even more in the armatures.
