Agree with you guys, Duran is the greatest latino fighter of all time. Thats saying a lot with people like Chavez and many many more. Duran was better than all of them.

Whitaker would have beaten him but except fom him, its tough seeing anyone else beat him at 135

Manny and JMM would have been KTFO
Floyd and JCC would have been comfortably UD'd

Duran - Top 10 ATG, NO DEBATE

There are really very few fighters ever that would rank ahead of Duran in terms of defense. I can see Pep, Locche, Whitaker and Mayweather jr. But only because thats their specialty. He would slip punches, duck, roll with the punches and rope a dope as well as anyone...

He had every ingredient to justify his ranking among the very best in this sport. Offense, Defense, can lead, can counter (with great accuracy), Can fight from the outside, great inside fighting, great chin and power to put down any opponent up to 160... He had a KD against the middleweight world champion who had won a championship at light heavyweight!

Sugar Ray Robinson, as every credible and reputable boxing historian would say is the most complete fighter ever... But sometimes I somehow disagree... A look at his highlights and some of his old footages suggest that he had a very limited defense... A very important factor to consider if you are suggesting how a complete fighter should look like...

Duran had exceptional defense and excellent in-fighting game... Robinson did not...

The term Sugar Ray Robinson is the most complete fighter is not a sacred truth... It is not infallible. A case can be made for Duran who was more complete on the merit of his exceptional defense and in-fighting IMHO...

This is just my take... This is just my humble opinion...

i agree. but being more complete does not make duran higher than SRR in an P4P ATG ranking... i think SRR had a slightly better resume...

A slightly better resume? OK. what about longevity? competing professionally for 5 different decades? What about the fact Duran had more titles in higher weight classes? what about ruling the 135 landscape for seven years having 12 defenses? what about winning the middleweight championship at age 37? a natural lightweight beating a middleweight who was large enough to win the title at light heavy? there is more than just resume my friend.

Yeah I'd have Duran extremely high on the all time list. How would you compare Leonard to Duran in terms of legacy/ATG position?
