Can there ever be a new G.O.A.T.?

I guess in theory a new G.O.A.T can emerge, but lots of unlikely things theoretically can happen......so that doesn't really say much does it? Also Ali was and still is grossly overrated, SRR is the man and the standard bearer, he probably always will be.Comment

I'm going to catch some Flack for this but what if Deontay goes back to beating everybody with one punch knockouts in the hype begins. That would be pulling the wool over our eyelids but just like a sheep he may have the baaaadest chance to miraculously pull it off.Comment

Mayweather is now the GOAT... No other great in history has beaten a UFC superstar, a RIZIN prospect, and a popular YouTube content creator (soon)... PPV king... 50-0... The only boxer who won a vacant lineal championship at catchweight... No illegal substance issues...
SRR has more than 10 losses... Ali only fought Inoki (wrestler)... GrandPac only fought Algieri (kickboxer) and was murdered by a mere memoroid punch... Armstrong is just a 3 division champ...Comment

You mean in the media? Among hardcore fans Ali is just one of many names often used for GOAT. Far as the media goes pretty sure Ali will always be The Greatest.
If you're looking for an obscure name that should be considered more often by media and fans it's Charles. Ezzard is the Boxrec p4p GOAT....which means next to nothing really, but, there is a reason Ez scores so damn highly with Boxrec and it's sad no one gives a damn. Emile is also another good one.
I'd say the top five names used for GOAT are Ali, SRR, SLR, Floyd, and RJJ or maybe Armstrong.Comment

You shouldn't say there can't be a new goat.
There's a young kid out there now who will only take up a career in boxing if he can one day be considered goat.
Don't end career before it starts.Comment
