Ring magazine scored Valuev-Holyfield in Valuev's favour...

... although those amusing brief "write ups" they do (not the lengthy ones, the ones with the A, B, C grades...) said that the judging was worse than the fight, the official Ring score in the major write-up was 115-113 Valuev.

I must admit, even though I scored it for Commander Vander, the fight was such a low output one that I couldn't really say robbery.

Valuev looked poor, though it seemed clear a lot of it was out of respect for the Commander. Most of the rounds I had the Commander "winning" were ones where he was on his bike for at least two minutes and only landing punches in single digit figures.

Though I did think he won more rounds, and I did think he won the fight, it can't really be that controversial if you're only landing four-six punches. The fight was also screened on Eurosport last night (yeah yeah, I know...) where one of the commentators had it a draw and the other had it to Valuev by the same margin as The Ring.

Most of the ringside observers, including those from the US, had Valuev winning a close decision.

What was really funny about this is that Bernstein and Charles were watching and calling the fight from a studio with a TV creen in the US! Bernstein kept scoring all the close rounds for Holyfield, and not only did Charles follow his lead, most observers in the US did the same...

In reality it was a very close fight that could have gone either way, and was far from a robbery.

I agree I felt Holyfield one but his output was so low that I don't feel a rematch demand by his camp is nessessary because Holyfield has had some favorable judging go his way...vs lewis 1 & vs ruiz 1 but this lackluster fight hurts valuev alot more because no expected it to be close & it really shouldn't have been...one note I watched my ruiz vs holyfield 1 this morning & before that fight(37yrs old in 2000) he said win or lose he would fight until he was 50.who would have thought that to be true.he's turning 47 soon.he still can fight top 30 guys competitively.amazing feat but to bad his record & legacy are being tarnished.he's also broke which is sad because I read last week he made money boxing than anyone in history other than oscar delahoya.completely BROKE!

Holyfield did not take the title in my view... but Valuev gave it away with his non-performance.

I don't think I saw him land a punch on Holyfield, atleast during the first half of the fight. Holyfield, as terrible as he is nowadays especially compared to what he used to be, was throwing and landing a couple of punches here and there.

Your blind or just gay with national pride if you think that nuclear experiment gone wrong won that fight. He should be wandering in the Himalayas or the Rocky mountains. He has no business in the ring.

Yeah, they commented on how Holyfield's output tailed off dramatically in the fight's second half. They also stated that out of (ISTR) 50 Ringside journalists asked, then 48 had Valuev winning,

Even if Holy won those rounds by landing a punch or two, he still won those rounds. Valuev was doing absolutley nothing.
