I'm seeing lots of hate now directed toward Juan Manuel Marquez, after a brilliant KO on Saturday against a young, world-class opponent, a former three title champion who had never been stopped before!

Every time Wlad wins, or two...
Sigh....how did that Wlad reference slip in there? There's a Wlad-like difference between a fight of the year candidate featuring a brilliant vet stopping a young warrior (what Marquez did) and what we got the last time we saw Wladimir: a horribly disinterested performance against an old man who had no business fighting for the title.

Only one of those deserves hate. Take a guess which one?

Why is Rahman at 36 an old man, and Vitali at 37 a young man?

Why does someone who's unified titles, has a PhD, is a great sport who respects his sport, who's won ten fights in a row, does charity work in his spare time for UNESCO, and had 46 KOs and 52 wins "deserve hate"?

Why do you hate this man? Is he a better man than you, is that why?

True. They do tend to over-react. I saw it a few times over the weekend. The guy who beat Matt Skelton (can't even remember his name) all of a sudden is a living legend, then Adamek all of a sudden is a living legend, now Marquez is apparently the true P4P number 1 and the business with PBF gets overblown just because he said the words "Floyd Mayweather"!

Rahman was a replacement for an injured mandatory, and was chosen by the IBF. If Wlad was black, would you still hate him? I'd bet my life you wouldn't. Be honest about it.

Ive noticed the same thing as well... the better a fighter does the more people want to tear them down...

Good thread Tunney... stay in THIS lane.

First of all a boxers fans don't get in the boxing ring and fight so who cares if they overrate him?

And maybe it's not that they overrate him but maybe it's just that haters will always refuse to give a fighter they hate any credit for any win no matter how great it is. You ever think of that?

Isreal Vasquez could knock out Vitali Kiltchko in one round and you would still have some mouthbreater saying "Oh it was ok but I wouldn't consider him top 20 pfp".

Sometimes people are gonna be naysayer no matter what.
