Why is it that the better a fighter does...

...the more hate threads are made about him in NSB?

I'm seeing lots of hate now directed toward Juan Manuel Marquez, after a brilliant KO on Saturday against a young, world-class opponent, a former three title champion who had never been stopped before!

Every time Wlad wins, you'll find hateful, ridiculing threads in NSB for a week or two. When Joe Calzaghe retired after a successful career during which he won all his 46 fights, we saw many hate threads about him here.

When a fighter loses, people generally just ignore him - but after a brilliant performance, there's all this hate!

Because when idiots on a message board mindlessly hate on a boxer it obviously means they have reached the highest level of championship boxing and are without doubt the best fighters in the game.

Nobody makes threads hating on Larry Donald now do they?

With success comes attention, both positive and negative. Some of it's jealousy for one reason or another (often racial, or nationalistic), and in the case of Marquez, partly because he called out Floyd Mayweather. Some of the Floyd fans don't like that, they feel threatened because someone else might think their hero can be beaten, or they think it's such a crazy idea that their hero can be beaten that they are simply in disbelief at the mere suggestion of Marquez fighting him, so they post extreme responses.

The hate is always there, and since after they fight thats when the attention is on the fighter, thats when the hate comes out.

Also, the hate comes out in reaction to certain fans overating what happened.

I agree it does go overboard though.

The hate is generally coming from Pac nuthuggers and closet racists, so it's understood.
