    Khan vs MAB - debate

I have been analasising this fight for the past couple of weeks and i honestly think khan has a huge huge chance of beating the faded legend in MAB.

the advantages phyiscally are in khans corner

    reach
    height
    weight
    pure size
    strength

are all in his favour in my opinion also he has speed, hes a really quick guy and has very good hand speed and a decent effective jab

MAB for me personally wants to be a 4 weight world champion, that is what his driving him on but he his not a 135 fighter he does not have the build to work into this weight catoergy i am sure he can still make super featherweight either featherweight if he pushed himself.

skill level MAB his very very good, hes been a 3 time champion fought fantastic fights against pacman, morales and marquez and also beating prince naz impressively but these are all in the past (his last fight against pacman was very average for him)

he has now moving up in weight against khan who is a huge lightweight who reallly does squeeze himself down to 135 so the size advantage is for khan in a big way and this follows my next point.....

against prescott khan got knocked the **** out, he came out swinging against a puncer with no defense and got sparked out but this was against a guy who had a very very good knock out ratio and someone who had fought at 140 and i think at 147 so he was a huge lightweight himself MAB his not a puncer and does not have the physical characterastics to put khan under pressure he might have the techical skills but does he have the power as well??? in his last 2 warm up fight his punch output is very average....

roach has the textbook copy to beat MAB so this is another sigificant point to use in this upcoming fight, i just honestly believe that MAB will not have the work rate of khan and wont be able to get past his ram rod jab which he will kick firing off during every round, roach has khan using the jab to work everything off from it (against ***an who was seriously under matched this was impressive as he seemed very well schooled)

couple of misgivings are chin for khan, there is no doubt he has a weak chin but it only has ever been exposed by a true true lightweight in prescot (gomez limond and the other guy were all super featherweights moving up and they were more flash knock downs tbh) with roach now teaching khan to be more defensive minder this could combat his main weakness

also a big point are body shots because MAB will be wanting to fire hooks into the body, against gomez khan got hurted from a left hook into the body but with his new conditioning coach hopefully they would of strengthen the mid section.

the cut from MAB is also a concern as i cant believe that will heal enough for him to spar enough to be sharp for this fight
    conclusion

this fight is a true pick em, do u pick the experience and classy "old" warrior in MAB or the promising but flawed AK. thats what makes this fight intriguing and even though warren gets alot of **** this is a very bold match making and has people talking about khan in a positive light. i think the main point of this fight is size and speed of khan and MAB. MAB will not be a big lightweight and this will favour khan as MAB wont likely have the power to crack his chin also i feel that khan can bully MAB with his size and his very effective jab.

i can see khan targeting the fresh cut of MAB and potentially stopping the fight on cuts, if this does not happen i dont think khan will be able to stop the rugged warrior because MAB does have a solid set of whiskers so i predict khan on UD if MAB cut stands up

    any thoughts

thats fair enough but khan has improved under roach admittly against a mediore opponent he looked very very sharp with his jab and his lateral movement he could just outwork MAB

Khan should win, but in the end Barrera is going to time him and if previous history is anything to go by it will level Khan.

Barrera can punch and he is wiley enough to stick in there while I think Amir will be lighting his old-arse up in the early going.

I see it going like this: Amir kicks Barrera's ass and gets nailed.

Most predictable fight of the year.

Khan will get knocked out if he trades, but I expect Roach to cook up a game plan , which consists of circling around the ring and just jabbing Barerra and throwing an occasional right hand that will lead to a very boring UD win for Khan. Expect him to do this from no on if he ever wants to win a title.

Oh God... you might be right. Khan is turning into a lightweight version of the K brothers.

At the end of the day, Khan just has to stay out the way of Barerra's big punches for the first 4 or 5 rounds, and with his speed and improved movement under Freddie Roache i think he can. I've studied Barerra's last 2 fights and he looks bad, and that's against very questionable opposition. After he has got through the early rounds he should be able to control the fight and win a decision or possibly stop Barerra late.
Though his chin is always vunerable and he could easilly get caught with a big punch early on.
