  • Polish website reports Hopkins vs. Adamek is in discussions

It may or may not happen, but Adamek's management has at least agreed to discuss the fight with Hopkins' management.

Hopkins says in the interview it would be at cruiserweight, not a catchweight.

He wants to be the linear (Ring) champion in another weight division.

It would be a money fight too. Adamek sells out arenas in Chicago and New York.

Don't know about west coast but I can personally attest to huge gates he had in Chicago.

I dunno about that. I know B'Hop have great skills, but we dont know if a 25lbs gaine will affect him. I mean Adamek have concusive power, and his the bigger man. I think that Hopkins can outbox Adamek, but I also believe that if Adfamek gets 1 of those them right hands, hell KTFO B'Hop!!!!!!!!!1

Hopkins says in the interview (second link in the first post) that he wants a higher percentage of the money, at least 1.5 million. So he sees a fight with Adamek is not only an opportunity to be a champion in another weight division, he sees it as a good payday too.

If this is true then Hopkins is making a mistake, this is a fight that he really doesn't need. This man is too young and strong for him at this point. In order for him to have the chance, he would have to make the fight very very boring and try to peck and poke his way to a controversial decision but with Adamek keep stepping too him and making him fight, that's going to be hard to do.

I think Hopkins should get a good percentage of the purse. No more then 60-40, but at least 55-45. Adamek brings a good amount of money though and is the champ, so he deserves at least 40%.

I like this fight though. While I'd rather Hopkins fight Dawson, Dawson is to busy with rematches for Tarver, hopefully Johnson, and then will have to fight his mandatory.

Hopes this fight happens in May. Around the 16th or the 23rd.

Hopkins should not get more money. He's boring as hell, no one pays to see him. Its the other guy he's facing who ppl come to see. Plus its not his belts on the line. It should be a 50/50 split if not a slight edge for adamek since it will be his fans selling out the arena.
