He was practically groveling to Lennox Lewis when he got a beat down by him after the fight.

JMM may not be as good as Barrera or Morales in their prime, but who was? Losing to those guys and Pacman, there's nothing shameful in that and if you knew anything about JMM you would understand the obstacles he has had to overcome to just come out of the shadows of those guys in Mexico.

If you don't respect JMM you don't respect boxing, period.
yeah tyson wasn't mentally strong but unlike others i think even though he gave up mentally he still tried to fight. you know what i mean? like he didn't go look for an excuse to find a way out.

as far as jmm , see this kind of posts don't get me all wound up.

if you say marquez was very good and he could have accomplished as much as barrera and morales given the chance that's fine.

if you say you think marquez won his close fights with pacquiao that's fine too.

what i don't like is when people say marquez is greater than barrera and morales. or that marquez was robbed. (the fight could have gone either way just say it was close and you thought marquez edged him out)

it's hard for me to stomach marquez being greater than barrera tbh. i begrudgingly had to give morales his due after he beat pac something marco couldn't.

i'm a big pacnuthugger but even i don't like to bring up the fact that manny might have surpasses marco's accomplishments. i love manny......but i was a barrera fan before i even heard of manny.

And I'm not disagreeing with that. I don't think JMM is better than Morales or Barrera. I don't think he's better than Pacman when it will be all said and done. I do think he beat Pacman not once but twice, that's just my opinion. I'm not really mad at the results but I do think he won. JMM is a great fighters with tons of heart. He has had to climb the ranks the hard way and to do what he's doing at the age of 35 is incredible.

Especially fighting in the era that he has.

i know. i'm not disagreeing with you either.

like i said i don't mind people thinking jmm beat pac. i think the 1st one was a pac win just because of the 1st 2 rounds but i was nervous when they announced the scorecard. the 2nd one i thought jmm won when i watched it live but scoring it multiple times later on i came up with scores all over the place.

What's so incredible is that when you look at JMM he doesn't have the physical skill that Barerra, Morales and definitely Pacman have.

Pacman was so much faster than he was but pure boxing skill kept him inthose fights and like I said, I thought he even won.

I respect Pac to the fullest but I love JMM for the determination he has shown in the sport.

Is this meant to be evidence that he is not? And, what's with the ages again? Why the hell do you people keep bringing up the ages of guys that Marquez fought? Where is A. Sanchez for Marquez? You do know he beat him as well?

Anyway, why don't we put up the ages for guys that the others fought eh?

                  Zaragoza (40)
Ayala (34): Did not have a title when fighting Morales or Barrera, didn't get another shot and retired immediately after losing both fights.
Tapia (35): Also, never got another title shot after losing.
Salud (37) Same age as Casamayor, the difference being that he hadn't won a title since 1989! His most recent title shot before Barrera was four years earlier and he lost every round. Casamayor was the best lightweight in the world and Ring Champion.
                  Hernandez (33)
                  Chavez (32)

Hey mate, where is Kevin Kelley? You forgot about him for Morales and Barrera. Morales fought him when he was 33, and Barrera fought him when he was 36.

                  Well done.

I do!!! At this points all 3 fighters have had just as many fights against the same level of compatition JMM is ranked #2 PFP while Morales and Barrera are shells of their former selves.
