I'd rate Marquez last two fights much more than Pacman's as well.

I've said before that I don't like the P4P list because it doesn't really mean anything and only provokes arguments. I think both Pacman and Marquez should be considered the best fighters in the world. You can't really make a convincing argument that one of them is definately above the other.

Yeah i dont have a problem with people who believe Pacman is the best. Its just my own opinion that JMM is the better of the two. At least we now have two P4P fighters that are no afraid to face the best.

Jones and Mayweather sold themselves short, when they were p4p.

Pac's gotta lose for JMM to get the top spot.

Well I follow the record book and see Pac having 1 win and 1 draw against JMM in very close, exciting fights. Their style makes the best of each other and hopefully there will be a 3rd fight, though unlikely now that money is more important. Cheers.

Yeah true. I've always thought that the best fighter on the planet will not only have the skills, but the heart to back up his ability and the resume to prove it.

It's just a shame Marquez couldn't get the recognition earlier in his career.

But following the record book in this case doesn't prove anything because both fights were extremely close and could have gone either way. If Pac had convincingly beaten JMM I would say Pac deserves to be #1, but since the fights were so close, I'm happy for both of them to be #1.

              pac has beaten barrera~2 morales~2 marquez~1 (close) delahoya~1
pac has fought from flyweight to welterweight that is a 10 division gap.
now how does marquez go ahead of pac after beating casamayor and diaz?
people need to stop getting carried away. good victory but no way does he become number one.

That is impressive i dont deny it, but your acting like Marquez does not have a victory over Barrera and has done nothing prior to beating Casamayor and Diaz. Marquez has a sold win over Peden the guy who knocked Nate Campbell out, he has win over solid fighters like Manuel Medina. I believe JMM has gotten rough decisions in big fights too.

Norwood,Pacquiao 1,John are all questinable defeats.

We can theoretically look at it this way, if JMM/Pac never fought each other where would they stand in the p4p listing?

The P4P list is not fact though, its opinion, thats why Whitaker was considered the best fighter in the world even though, he did not officially beat J C Chavez.

I would still have the two of them about even.
