i bought that fight as a pac fan and left a jmm fan. it was real close and could have gone either way. but i personally feel if this was back in the day and it was a 15 rounder it would have gone to jmm. i question if they'll ever have a third bout and to be honest i guess i wouldn't mind if they don't, cause if they do then i'll have to spend a couple months freaking out waiting to see this fight.
Why Pacquiao vs Marquez Trilogy Won't Decide who's Better

I completely agree. It's good to finally see a post that is not dissing one or the other of them. Though everyone argues who the better fighter is, and probably always will, the simple fact of the matter is that both of these guys are the best fighters in the world and are both evenly matched.
They have both had a string of great wins and both sit evenly at the top of the P4P heap, in my opinion anyway. No doubt all the rabid Pac-fans will dispute Marquez being even at the top, but I think their fights and Marquez' last win puts them both at the very top, whether or not Pac has the actual distinction of the Number 1 spot.
One problem with them meeting at an even higher weight is that Marquez simply does not have the frame and body to fight at a weight above 135 I think. He is a very small lightweight and moving up to 140 will be disastrous for him. It really should be made, if they ever fight again, at 135. It would be the perfect weight for both of them. Pac can easily make it and it would actually be a better weight for him then 140 anyway, and of course 135 would also suit Marquez better than anything else.
When it comes down to it, Pac only ever moved up for the fights with the money super-daddies of the sport Oscar and Hatton. There are not really any other major fights up that high for him, apart from maybe Cotto. Even then, he doesn't have the same popularity that Marquez has at the moment nor does he have the same rivalry that would make this fight a genuine 'Super-Fight'.
I do have a feeling though that after the Hatton fight, and whatever happens in it, these two will fight once more in the rubber-match. I think that Cotto would be the only other realistic fight for Pac up that high and Roach would probably view that one as too risky for him. No doubt they will look at Marquez' advancing age, advancing weight and the fact that he is now slowing down whereas Pac is still in his peak years and with the extra weight they will believe that they could make this last fight more decisive, which is probably true. Marquez, in my opinion anyway, won't take that extra five pounds too well and his age and the wars he has been through will quite suddenly catch up to him at the higher division.Comment

With such close fights, it's really only what a real, true champion should do anyway. Morales gave it to Pac no? Or should Morales have said "Mate, I beat you convincingly in the first fight. Screw giving you a rematch"?
Don't forget this also; It was Marquez' titles that Pac fought for, so when it comes down to it, it was actually Marquez giving Pac the shot, not Pac giving Marquez two chances as you say.Comment

The thing about Manny appearance wise is that he looks a bit smaller than he is because his legs are massive. While he might look like the smaller man he makes up for it with how big his legs are compared to almost any fighter.Comment

Huh? What do you mean twice? They had a disputed draw the first time, so it was really up to both of them to try and show who was the better fighter. Pac wasn't giving Marquez a chance in their rematch, he was having the only fight that really mattered to either guy. That's it. Even then, neither really showed any true superiority. Marquez got knocked down while Pac got out-boxed for the majority and even the SD was very highly disputed. That's not a second chance.
