S.G., I'm surprised at you. Often people get locked into a contract which isn't working out well for them. I know all about this myself, having had to deal with shady contracts in the music business. It's really depressing. I don't hold Kessler fully responsible, I do believe he wants the best fights.

I'm not convinced he's fully confident in his abilities, or that he has that go getter attitude that's necessary to pull through out-of-ring adversity to get where you wanna be sometimes

I'm sure he does want big fights, but what about those high risk fights that get you big fights

I do see where you're coming from, but I don't think it's that he doesn't want the big fights or he lacks confidence though. I feel sorry for the guy, to be honest. There probably have been a few bad business decisions over the years but **** happens. I think we're yet to see the best of him, and like you said, we'll see what happens when he gets away from Palle. To me, he looks like a really excellent fighter who is yet to fulfill his true potential. He has skills!

Guys like Miranda would have no chance against him, he'd be KO'd in 4 rounds.

The negotiations is at a stalemate. The delay makes the logistics of the fight happening before summer near impossible. Kessler has a (lame) mandatory he'll have to fight before July so that fight will likely be next.

So look for a June fight with Perdomo, an August/September fight with Larsen and hopefully something interesting for other nationalities than danes after that. So far 2009 is wasted.

I don't know if a Larsen fight will be the last with Palle. It has been rumoured to be the case but the negotiations between Kessler and Palle is done by their respective attourneys so not much gets out. The climate between the Palles and Kessler is sub-zero...

Oh and Kessler might get a new promotor in Denmark. It's his close friend Simon Lundt. He's an ex-con and has served 2 sentences for drugdealing. Kessler needs to pick his friends (and management) a bit better IMO.

It's by no means certain that a change in management will land Mikkel a big fight. I know that Sauerland is rumoured to have been tampering with Kessler but a change to a german stable might not be the right decision although a future fight with Arthur Abraham might be a possibility.
