He just beat a 25 year old top light weight. 50W-4L, has never been stopped, never said "I quit." He would have had a win over Pac before Morales if only he had not under estimated Pac in the first round of their first fight. There is a very good chance he would have had a win over Naseem Hamed if Hamed's team hadnt ducked him. Actually engaged in full combat and tried to win in the second pac fight no matter the consequences, unlike Barrera going in there to survive(not get KD or KO) and get paid. Always fights with much heart and gives it all he has. Yes, for the time being, TOTALresume and accomplishments are a tad short from Morales and Barrera. Its not his fault his early career didnt take a great path because of horrible management and promotion. Didnt win his first title till he was 30, his second title shot. Went to Indonesia to get his title back for low pay because thats how much he wanted it, lost via home town decision and 2 home town point deductions. Had to rebuild his career back up since then...at age 32.

Again, hes 35 and still fighting at the top, still persuing the most dangerous fight out there with pac. There is a chance that by the time his career is over, he will surpass Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera in terms of accomplishments and resume. One of the hardest workers in the sport, he has to push himself to contend as he does at this stage and weight in his career.

    Juan Manuel Marquez
    Erik Morales
    Marco Antonio Barrera
It speaks volumes that Morales who retired 6 years younger then JMM who is still fighting has a better resume then JMM at 35. That has to be kept in mind. Morales fought everyone. Fearless. JMM started fighting top dogs way later in his career, hence his longevity. By 29 years old Morales had 25+ title fights that is ridiculous. He was a 3 weight champion and what 5 time champ?

You should take all those into consideration. Morales was a beast and would most likely have lit up JMM in his prime. Could you imagine the EM that fought Barrera fighting JMM? Man he was a demon. He would have straight punked him. Even past his prime he beat a prime Pacman, that says a ton about his talent and how special he truly was.

I still consider him the first 4 division champ because Diaz didn't win that fight that was gift. Marquez is barely starting to gain legendary fights, what's he got 3? Look at how many legendary fights Morales or Barrera have.

    Morales
    Barrera
    JMM

The last 2 may switch places but I will most likely always have Morales above the others, I also thought that Morales won the first two fights, he threw 200 more punches in the first fight. Morales threw 100+ more in their second. I had him winning 2/3 so that is just my opinion.

But Marquez can still get to the top if he beats Hatton.
