I'm tired of hearing ***** Mayweathers' name being mentioned by fighters. He is RETIRED! Anyways, Saturdays fight card was terrific. That is what boxing is about. Warriors vs. Warriors. I am not Mexican but, those two fighters should true Mexican heart and spirit. That is something Mayweather doesn't and will never have. Boxing is back! Much respect!

Even OSCAR said it, Mayweather is scared, he doesnt want that prescious "0" to change after a retirement which that is the reason why he went on retirement when he heard all these big names coming up and wanting to fight him in the near future, thats not what you call pound for pound fighter, they gave him easy opponents, the only best opponent he had was Hatton and De La Hoya, and he was scared to throw many punches until he knew the other one was tired, i mean thats good strategy but he knows he cant do that with other best ones.

Floyd would face Manny

There's so much money in that fight and Floyd may even be favoured to win despite coming off a 2 year layoff, Manny may be a great fighter but i wouldn't fancy his chances against Floyd

Mosley doesn't bring enough money to feed Floyd's ridiculous demands even though Floyd was desperate for a mosley fight a few years ago

i dont see him fighting Pacquiao but i sure hope your right! i would be one of the few that thinks Pac would beat Mayweather in a close fight to be remembered! i think he has the same speed and i think his aggressive style and much improved body movement with his defense would force Mayweather to fight more than he usually does or wants to. the long layoff with no warmup fight would hurt mayweather more than his fans will admit. But the well the important thing is for the fight to happen first and floyd just doesnt seem to want to fight.

forget Manny, Marquez and Hatton. Mayweather needs a win over Mosley, Cotto, Clottey, Williams, Margarito, Berto, or Winky Wright. that would make him a great champion. same thing with Mosley. i dont want to see another natural Welterweight pushing for a fight with a natural lightweight when both divisions run deep. Boxing has more stars and these popular fighters need to give the top ranked fighters a shot, not square off against one another.

I love this reasoning which appears on here regularly: if you have a better defence, you will win. How come fighters that are primarily offensive get slated for being one-dimensional, but fighters that are primarily defensive don't? At 130 Floyd was a beast, truly all-round and extremely dangerous. As he's moved in weight though, his game has become far more defensive and relies a lot on potshotting.

Wilfred Benitez had a greater defence than Floyd, but he still got beaten by a great offensive fighter in Ray Leonard.

Marquez might not have the speed/defence of Floyd, but his offense is very good. To say that he wouldn't stand a chance is ludicrous. Floyd might be better at avoiding shots, but Marquez is better coming forward. I'd lean towards Floyd winning that fight, but I certainly wouldn't say its a foregone conclusion.

The problem with floyds defense is that guys like JMM dont have what it takes to break it open, nobody at this point is going to outsmart floyd, there is not one fighter, not even JMM who can do that. The things that happened to JMM dont happen to mayweather, 3 knockdowns in one round, losing overseas to the likes of Chris John etc. Those things dont happen to mayweather, FMJ is faster, more accurate and far less hittable, JMM has next to no chance because Mayweather has also been in with much bigger punchers.

i hear what your saying but at the same time Floyd has to understand that the 20 mil came from fighting ODLH (which made floyd mainstream) and then Ricky Hatton, both are world known fighters that bring huge money to the table, ... look around though, no way anyone can bring that type of money and can generate the PPV sales to get him what he wants, i can't hate floyd for wanting his due, so if his heart ain't in it anymore i just say stay retired.
