dude what are you trying to prove, cause i could care less if earlier he wanted to fight those guys... and lets not talk about them, why is he avoiding them right know when he can make more money?? you clearly dont want to see mayweather against this guys seems you want to keep his "0" more than him, and thats okay but you can not tell hes the best P4P of this era, he never did really nothing to secure his legacy on welterweight, just fought a washed up oscar in a fight that could of been a draw , cause hes never faced no miguel cotto or shane mosley, berto, clottey... the list goes on.
so the truth is he should stayed in lower weight classes or come down right now that every one wants to fight him, and every body would understand if he admited that he thinks those guys are to big for him. dont get me wrong i think he has a chace to beat them and i think he has the potential of being one of the best (just physicall-athletic cause he is mentally weak).
that being said i think floyd mayweather is not better than for eg. mosley, who started at one weight above mayweather, almost the same size as him, but capable and positive of fighting anyone from welterweight or jr middleweight, and mayweather just maybe capable... and has never faced the type of fighters mosley has.
and for goodsake he was 31 and in his prime when he quit,, why stay retire now that he is wining the most money, and avoiding the top fighters in the division he has claimed to be the best... thats not being a leyend ,not a P4P not even a real fighter.
by the way great fight by marquez, he is truly a great fighter with courage, and has all my respect, he is the best thing in boxing for mexico right now, and is sad most of the people in the country have no idea what he has acomplished in his last two fights, they have to get over chavez retired so they stop putting their hopes in the juniors, because by the way boxing is right now we dont need more superstars that are not willing to fight the best.Comment

Irrelevant
So in June 2005 Hatton called Floyd out very publicly and got no response.
Then in November 2005 Hatton called Floyd out very publicly again and invited him to be at ringside for Hatton's fight against Maussa in order to build interest in a fight between them early in the New Year, and again got no response apart from his invitation to attend the Maussa fight being declined. At this stage Floyd had already moved up to Welterweight to fight for Sharmba Mitchell, although he still held a Jnr. Welterweight belt.
Then in March 2006, four months after the second call-out and nine months after the first one, when Floyd gave up the Jnr. Welterweight title, Floyd's advisor Ellerbe claimed that Hatton isn't looking his way until at least 2007, but gave no evidence to back up his statement.
And you ignore the first two articles completely, but take the third one completely at face value?Comment

Facts are facts pbf ducked nobody (my point)

Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million.
Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn't interested in participating in.
"That's not in the cards," Arum said. "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. We'll talk about things down the road."
Ellerbe said Mayweather opted for the buyout so he could be "more in control of when and who he fights next. It's as simple as that. There is nothing bad between Floyd and Bob."
Arum agreed that the split with Mayweather was not on bad terms like their brief breakup last year. In fact, Arum said, "We intend to be back together. Everything with this was honorable and good. I had offered him numbers [for a multi-fight contract extension] that were livable. His expectations are in the stratosphere. He was entitled to buy me out, and he did. We decided this was the best way to handle it. He is a free agent. We have agreed to work with each other [in the future]."
The split frees Mayweather to make a potential deal with De La Hoya without Arum as part of the promotion. His involvement would have made making a deal almost impossible: The head of Top Rank has openly feuded with De La Hoya, his former superstar, and their companies rarely do business together as a result.
Arum said he was simply not interested in participating in a De La Hoya-Mayweather fight, but not because of his distaste for De La Hoya.
"I don't want to, because if I did that fight, I would be working for such a small percentage, it's not worth it," he said.

I said that
The article doesn't say Mosley wished he was Mayweather. It just says he was the closest in style from a sparring partner point of view that Gomez was able to come up with. It says Mayweather is the best technician in the game, but only a hater could deny that. Mosley is not as good as technician but he has other qualities, and more power. The article does not say that Mosley doesn't think he would have a chance of beating Mayweather if they fought.Comment

Reason for Posting.....
It's true that Boldomir was briefly rated highly, after beating Judah and Gatti, but he has since been shown up as a limited fighter, not only by Mayweather, and is no longer rated in the top 10 at any weight by The Ring or by boxrec.
IMO, there is no doubt that Mosley, Cotto, Clottey and Williams are currently all a lot better fighters than Boldomir and Judah were back then.
Not saying that any of them would beat Mayweather if they fought, but they'd be much more of a challenge in most boxing experts' minds than Boldomir and Judah were.Comment

The reason Mayweather opted for the buyout rather than waiting for the May 6 result was because the contract had a limited window for the buyout, one that expired before the De La Hoya fight. However, Arum said he would have extended the window if Mayweather had asked. What Arum wouldn't do, he said, was raise the guarantees for other fights outlined in the contract.

but the thing is that no body cares about these type of things and anyone who says he does may not have a life of his own.
they are just for people to know why a fight wasnt made, not to decide who is the better of the fighter.
and when a fighter cares about hes legacy they should really not care that much about money, and the people will love them, the people will respect them, and the money will come.
you say your point was that floyd ducked no body, okay... didnt read any of your posts, but lets say you proved that point. "he ducked no body".
but he is clearly doing it right now... okay "hes retired", because he doesnt want to fight anymore and thats okay with me, in fact is a wise decision wich i respect.
but you should to your self your opinion about mayweatherfact being the best pound for pound of our era, and placing it like it is some type of conclusion from any of your boring allegations that he ducked no body.
its just not related.
because there has never been an all-time great, that became legend, from any rumor, interview, coment, etc., the only way is fighting against the best, and mayweather for what ever reason hasnt,
maybe mayweather had the potential but he came to short, he could maybe beat mosley (who knows, style makes fights) probably cotto, margarito,
but he did very little in terms of fighting the best oposition, to even being considered as the best pound for pound.Comment
