    If Arum is serious he'd make a sensible offer, and he hasn't yet. I want the fight but I don't think Arum does.

        Still, 8 mil is a lowball offer

          Whoops - the article was quoting Arum, that's why I said that, but you're right it was Shaeffer who actually made the offer. Anyway, the point is that the offer of $8 million was ******, no second offer has been made, so I don't think GPB were serious about making the fight.

              I'm not trying to justify $20 million, I'm just saying GBP still haven't made a serious offer, so I don't think they really want the fight.

                [FONT="Tahoma"]Like Leon said,

                Negotiating a fight with Mayweather is like negotiating a fight with Oscar. , First we figure out your market value by averaging the purses of your last three fights, then we offer you more than that and if you don't want it, 200 other guys will.

                Mayweather last 3 fights:
                1. Hatton /2007 $40,250,000
                2. Oscar/2007 $26.5 million
                3. Baldomir/2006 $15 Million (8 million was guaranteed)

                Floyd Mayweather 2008

                It's been a monster year (2008) for Pretty Boy, who made $20 million in purse and pay-per-view shares for his fight with Ricky Hatton and another $20 million for his foray into professional wrestling.

                  Yea, I’m not sure man…for a guaranteed $20mil, your opponent better be Tyson or DLH….with Shane, I think $10-12 is realistic…Shane isnt that much of a draw

                    No he doesn't! He didn't mention once that 90% of the revenue generated in his fights with Oscar and Ricky came from their fans.

                    Leaving out fact doesnt make an argument correct no matter how you spin it.
