In 1993 when they fought it was a close fight..both improved over time..but i think hopkins had to improve more..he is much better fundamentally and is alot smarter..i belive from 2000-present hopkins wins hands down

Yeah I agree it was close and RJJ started doing the Calzaghe but yeah, I had Roy clearly winning but! To be honest, that fight was boring and it looked like they were sparring

I have scored that fight plenty of times and I get nothing other than 8 rounds to 4 in favour of Jones. I believe if he wasn't injured he would have almost won a shutout. They were a fair way apart at that point in their careers.

the only times hopkins looked effective in that fight was when he got jones on the ropes and that didn't last long enough where he could get in some hard shots either

hopkins had no answer for his speed.Like I said he didn't beat hopkins up or whoop him but based on judging round by round.He easily took the decision

The only people who think Hops are better are ****wad Joe fans like Braindead and the only reason they say that is because Joe beats 43 year old Hops. So if they make Hops look good it sounds like they are reasonable and can also fellate Joe at the same time.

back when they fought 1993 was a long time ago, then at 1 point they had on and off talks for a mega fight which was always talked about, then roy moved up to heavy beat up ruiz, then roy lost to tarver, Hopkins killed tarver. But honestly if they laced them Up today hopkins would bust up roy jones worse then calzaghe did, I think Hopkins would KO roy without a doubt. and hes 43 and hes still better then jones jr.

let's look at it this way, when Zab fought Cory Spinks - Spinks got paid 1 million Zab 100,000, but he took the fight any. he knew he would win. Roy was the champ and P4P champ and owned a win over Hopkins, why would he split 50/50 with Hopkins. If Hopkins was so sure of himself why didn't he just take the fight and take the belt like Judah did. makes since to me.
