whys Hopkins better then Jones ????

back when they fought 1993 was a long time ago, then at 1 point they had on and off talks for a mega fight which was always talked about, then roy moved up to heavy beat up ruiz, then roy lost to tarver, Hopkins killed tarver. But honestly if they laced them Up today hopkins would bust up roy jones worse then calzaghe did, I think Hopkins would KO roy without a doubt. and hes 43 and hes still better then jones jr.

Jones has more boxing milage than Hopkins even though he's younger, Hopkins is also a freak of nature and 110% commited, lived the right lifestyle and was blessed with great genetics so he hasn't aged much at all. Jones has very limited boxing fundamentals so once his physical abilities diminshed he was never going to be elite. He was always overrated anyway because of his spectacluar wins over bin men and taxi drivers but that's another story.

I don't think he is better then B-Hop but you can debate it. I think RJJ has this serious liking because of his athleticism and how he was able to land punches from a mile away and how he would make everyone look like a bum, to me B-Hop is the better/ more accomplished fighter

I would have loved to see a rematch but right now, it ain't worth it.

Prime 4 prime Hopkins KO`s Roy.

Roy spent hid prime fighting bums, Hopkind fought the best (Oscar, Tito dont count)

1996-2009 Jones vs Hopkins?!?!? Jones loses big!

I love that Hopkins rose to the top on smarts and hard-learned technique as opposed to Jones who genetically had his otherworldly athleticism handed to him on a plate

I don't agree with this. You could mount an argument for Bernard managing to win a decision over Roy in their respective primes (which I don't think he would have) but no way in hell is Bernard knocking him out. Not only was Roy's chin substantially better in his prime but his movement and reflexes were such that he barely ever got it and BHop never possessed that one punch power that would have been necessary to stop Roy.

I think a prime on prime matchup between the two would have gone in a pretty similar direction to the way their actual fight went. A cagey affair with Roy's superior athleticism winning the day for him. Now? I think BHop either wins and easy decision over or stops Roy. Jones is just shot.

I'd be careful there. It is almost as if you are implying Roy didn't need to work hard to get where he did, which would be rubbish.

Overall he isn't. He's just aged better.
