clottey can win because of his huge size, good defense, good durability and overall skill, but his style is not a bad one for cotto to exploit.....
I agree for the most part, but how is Clottey mentally weak?

he blew a fight he was winning going away.........thats zab judah-andrew golota weak mentality type ****.....

he also let a bruised knuckle bother him more than it should in such a big break(margarito fight)......like kermit cintron did in his fight with feliciano....

he has had fighters ready to go in 4 rounds only to get complacent and carry them 12(not even being particularly dominant either.....)

I don't think that certifies him as mentally weak, he always seems to have bad stamina when he gets a high work rate going. He isn't really a big puncher either, just enough to hurt you.

I haven't seen all that fight, but if I remember correctly it was said to be out of retaliation. Clottey said himself that if a fighter starts fighting dirty with him, he will always fight dirty back. I doubt it was a Judah-Mayweather moment, where Zab was getting beaten badly that he got frustrated and look to cheating as a way out.

I don't think that Clottey is a bad matchup at all. He isn't overly flashy, doesn't have amazing speed to overwhelm Cotto, and doesn't exactly have KO power to give Cotto something to think about late in the fight. In my opinion Clottey is exactly the kind of fighter Cotto would prefer to fight. Clottey will stand and fight against Cotto and that allows Cotto's superior speed to be of some effect since he won't have to chase Clottey down. Clottey is custom made to put on a great fight against Cotto. And Cotto actually can actually pull of a KO win IF Clottey allows himself to get hit with punches like Cotto was delivering in the Margo fight. All in all I think Cotto pulls this one off via UD. Pick the right guy Cotto for me, the rest of your fans, and box fans in general.

Cotto isn't faster than Clottey. He hits harder but he has slower hands.

I don't think so, Clottey lets his hands go for combination's quicker, he ripped Margarito with 4-5 punch combination and triple left hooks early and mid way through the fight. He isn't that much faster than Cotto, but he is still significantly quicker. I don't think it will make a huge difference though because Cotto's timing more than makes up for it.
