Clottey is a bad matchup for Cotto

Cotto isn't faster than Clottey. He hits harder but he has slower hands.

I think they are about the same. I dont know where this thing about clottey being slow started though.

Clotty won't be blocking punches with his face, unlike margarito he is hard to land cleanly on. Fights kind of like Quartey, but without the bazooka jab. IMO he beats Cotto.

I agree with the first part. I don't think Cotto hurts Clottey unless it's to the body, and Clottey's arms are long enough where he covers his body up pretty well when he's in that shell, so even that's a long shot.

But Cotto's an accurate counter puncher and will be more active. That's why I think he'll pull out the decision.

Don't agree. All that size and durability doesn't mean **** if he doesn't put the pressure on Cotto. And Clottey can't sustain the amount of pressure needed to really trouble Cotto too much.

Where will Clotty be when Cotto is digging those shots to his body? After a few solid Uppercuts I don't think Cotto will be attacking the body much.

Maybe but Cotto has much better footwork and speed i just cant see Clottey winning down the stretch just my opinion.

Footspeed, yes, but there handspeed is pretty even. Look guys Clotty is no slouch, and he throws quick combos on the inside. Vey evenly matched when it comes to skill, but when I look at the intangibles, I see Clotty having the upperhand. May the best man win though.

Clottey is going to win if they fight, I just know it, Clottey is the bigger, more durable man, and Cotto has had his toughest challenges against those kind of guys(Mosley, Margarito). Clottey is also the best defender he has ever faced, and if Cotto could find Margarito's body, he's going to have a hard time finding Clottey. Clottey will counter punch Cotto more then he has ever been, nobody has ever done that very effectively to Cotto for a whole fight. Torres did a good job but his chin is weak, Gomez countered Cotto very well at times but he hits just as hard as Malignaggi. I'm suprised Mosley isn't as good of a counterpuncher, but Clottey will land impressive combos. Clottey could eat Cotto's power too. He's fought strong guys in the past. Clottey got this, June 13th, you'll see.

I don't think Clottey has ever fought anybody with the devastating power that Cotto brings so I doubt he'll be willing to "eat Cotto's power". Clottey will stand and fight Cotto (according to his interview) and that will work to Cotto's advantage. The fact that Cotto didn't find Margo was something Cotto admitted was his fault. Margo's head was so easy to find that Cotto admitted he didn't look to the body as much as he normally would have.

not really, clottey is a very complacent fighter, who has slowed down late in fights even more times than cotto, is weak mentally, his best punches are short hooks(cotto's block is strong and generally placed like earmuffs....) and his style is not flashy at all to get him points.......

clottey can win because of his huge size, good defense, good durability and overall skill, but his style is not a bad one for cotto to exploit.....

co-sign.... clottey is good when hes fighting someone like judah or margarito...... but cotto is better all around than both of those guys imo.... cotto can very well beat cottey.

clottey tires going down the stretch, and that could be a huge factor if they were to fight. the mentally stronger fighter will win, as they do not have any blaring advantages over one another
