I mean as for the Pavlik comment sure, workrate isn't it. OBVIOUSLY Joe is skilled or Bernard would just Pavlik him. But really he wasn't working on the outside as much as some fans would have you believe.

Watch the fight again. I see in the mid rounds a few times where he would jab on the outside then step away and double up with his feet. But for the most part he was pressure attacking. Did you really not see that? Do you really think Joe fought on the outside for most of that fight.

What does "in and out mean". What rounds and at what time specifically do you see this?

I just tried to watch it as its been a while but its not on youtube, at the start of the fight he is very square on basically walking up to hopkins thinking he was gonna unload combinations on him obviously he gets put on his ass. About round 3-4 it looks like he realised he wasn't gonna dominate hopkins the way he thought he would so he basically for the main part started throwing 1's and 2's and then out of punching range or into a clinch, obviously he is pressuring him but that has a lot to with the fact that hopkins gave up the middle of the ring. When calzaghe did this I saw hopkins a couple of times try and counter but calzaghe wasn't there so hopkins just put his head down and jumped into a clinch and headbutted calzaghe a few times to boot.

I do believe tho had hopkins not started faking injury and holding so much from round 9 calzaghe would have started landing on him cleanly, definitely
