Here is some good opponents Barkley faced, and lost too:

        Michael Nunn - decison
        James Toney - tko
Nigel Benn - 1st round tko
        Henry Maske - tko
        Sumbu Kalambay - decision

I think were getting off topic. Someone posted that SRL lost to a lightweight. But this lightweight moved up to light heavy.

Mayweather moved up to welter, you cant compare Duran and Mayweather due to the size diifference.

            Mayweather started at 130 lbs

Duran first fight was at 119 lbs

Mayweather is 5'8 with 72 reach

Duran was 5'7 with 66 Reach

weight/size actually matters when it comes down to it it matter more than skill when you are talking 3-4 divisions apart in natural size.

Example: Cotto couldn't beat bute, no matter how much better people say he is Bute is going to be landing punches with 175ish lbs behind them to Cotto's 155ish lbs.

Cotto is going to be used to taking Welterweight punches, bute is going to be used to taking SMW punches. Add al that up and it gets messy for the smaller guy.
oh please everybody knows about those power differences no need for examples. what im just sayin is even if this was ******, it's not farfetched. so who would've thought SRL at WW would fight at LHW? and LW duran would be a MW champ? neither did you right, and you wouldve probably said the same thing back then what you're saying right now. the thing is that's one of the reasons they're high on the ATG list and PBF isnt. they searched for greatness and tested their true worth.

but again, SRL would TKO Floyd imo.

SRL would have killed Cotto even easier.

                  okay..... wheres this heading?

Mayweather is too small to seriously compare against SRL.

Comparing against Duran is a whole new story.

Don't get me wrong here as Mayweather Jr. is very talented and skilled and would not be easy for Leonard. Leronard would pursue, trap and throw combinations against Mayweather Jr. who would answer back but not with as much effect.

Remember Leonard took the bombs of Duran and Hearns, so I don't think Mayweather Jr. has what it takes to seriously hurt Ray. In about the 9th round of a very fast paced fight, Leonard would once again trap Mayweather Jr. on the ropes and not let him out throwing a blistering combination culminated by a vicious left hook sending Mayweather Jr to the canvas where he would be counted out.
everybody has a maybe or what could have happened for a LightWeight fighter, but let's not forget from LW to SWW he won belts. What happened to all of the people he beat to get there. It's not like he didn't go after belt holders. Enough with the Leonard sh... everyone knows that Hearns won that second fight hands down. The only way you got a win over Leonard was to knock him out point blank ask Hagler.....

even if this fight were to be at lightweight lets say lennard could lose the weight to get down to lets say a catch weight of 133? does floyd have a chance?
