Like I said that fight lasted about a minute.

Williams might struggle, but he takes a UD... Hopkins would get his good counter shots in for sure... he just couldnt keep up for 12 rounds... it would come down to numbers,,, im tellin YOU SON!
Ok man, if the fight gets signed I'll bet you all 7 million of your points.

Lets also not forget how GREAT bernard looked against WINKY, at 170lbs...
Styles make fights, you know that Reed you've said it countless times. Everyone and their mama knew hopkins/winky was going to be ugly based on their styles, that's why hopkins slapped winky in the weigh in to sell the fight because of the huge amount of negative press it received.

I understand Bernard is a bigger fighter...

But a 44 year old human being, having to make 168 lbs.... and then proceed to keep up with williams for 12 rounds..

Woujd Bernard get his clean counter shots in? OF COURSE HE WOULD...

It just wouldnt be enough... Bernard would not be able to win a decision IMO...

He would have to knock williams out...
Bernard is 44 but age is only a number. Hopkins has proved it time and time again, Hopkins last fight was at 170, just two pounds over the super middleweight limit.

He would make 168 with no bad effects imo. 160 would be a totally different story though.

Hopkins is great at taking away a guys workrate, look at the Wright, Pavlik and Calzaghe fights, Even though Calzaghe won the fight on his workrate Hopkins clearly slowed him down, Calzaghe was just able to get through it because he is a exceptional fighter. he is a class above Williams. I don't think Williams can adapt like Joe could.

calzaghe walks around at 200 lbs, williams walks around at 162 lbs

calzaghe is much much bigger and stronger than williams.

Williams offers a lot of the same problems Joe did against Hopkins, it would be a close fight for sure... I'd back Hopkins just on experience and ability to work fighters out.

wright and pavlik... a 154lb and 160lb fighters......

Joe was a voume puncher, and bernard couldnt keep up... so is williams.

Age is just a number... so when hes 50... hey its just a number he can still do it?

Are you honestly comparing the head movement and footwork of Joe Calzaghe to Paul Williams? Don't get me wrong, I've made my share of Slappy Joe jokes, but he's definitely on a different skill level than Williams as of now. Let the dude grow into the division a little, he's maybe hit that physical prime but he's yet to have to adapt the way Joe has learned to. Joe is not the same fighter as Williams, people used this same damn analogy to Pavlik's stamina and workrate before Hopkins schooled his little ass too.

Did I compare Joes head movement to Williams?

                NO....

I compared their voume punching.. which is clear in my 3 sentence post.

It's a whack comparison. Joe didn't use 1000 punches to beat Bernard, he used his legs to pressure him and flurries on the inside. Not endless punches in range. Apples and oranges, watch fights not numbers...

He outworked Bernard... that is why he won.

I don't need to get into how Paul Williams and Joe Calzaghe have different styles... NO KIDDING.

                      of course not smartass

At this stage of his career though it is, He is still competing with the top guys in his division so that basically says it all.

Why are you mentioning what divisions Wright and Pavlik are from when Williams last two fights were in those divisions ? guess that means he beats Williams because Williams is a 154/160 fighter
