    i wasnt aware that Kessler was a lineal champ...the lineal champ at SMW was calzaghe he lost...had he beaten joe, he would have been the lineal champ


    i think the only time the rankings factor come into play is when a champ retires or vacates that weight class....like lennox lewis

      That's the the Ring title, not the linear title. Trinidad vacated the title after he moved up in weight, meaning the line was broken, it was up to the number 1 and 2 to restore the line and that was DLH and Mosley, Mosley won the fight, making him the lineal champion.

      And DLH became the lineal champion at 154 when he beat Castillejo who had beaten Mullings who had beaten Norris.

        Yeah. Mosley has held the lineal championship two times. One in 2000 when he and Oscar De La Hoya had started a new line and then in 2003 when he "won" it against DLH.
