Judah was considered the lineal champion by beating Spinks who had beaten Mayorga who had beaten Forrest who had beaten Mosley and so on.

Same thing with Sasakul, he beat Arbachakov who beat Kittikasem who beat Chitalada and so on. So when Pacquiao beat Sasakul, he's the linear champion.

Forrest - Mosley were one and two. Forrest won The Ring Magazine welterweight championship of the world.

Always thought to win lineal championship you had to win ring title?>>

i think silencers has explained it clearly enough...lineal championship means 'beating the guy that beat the guy' and so on

It was actually Mosley and DLH who were 1 and 2 to settle the who was the Ring champion, I don't think Forrest was ranked number 2 when he beat Mosley, I could be wrong though.

No, the lineal champion is the man who beat the man who beat the man etc. It doesn't mean they have to have the Ring title, I mean Erdei is the lineal champion right now at light heavyweight but the Ring doesn't have him as their champion.

DLH - Mosley 2 was RING magazine Jr Middleweight Championship of the World.

Who ranking do we follow. Hopkins is ranked number one at LHW

No, the lineage at 168 is broken, Calzaghe was the lineal champion but he vacated the title, now the number 1 and number 2 have to settle who's the lineal champion at 168 but when Pacquiao won against Sasakul, the lineage wasn't broken, Sasakul has beaten the man who beat the man, there was no need for him to fight the number 2 to clarify if he was the lineal champion because he had already done that by beating Arbachakov.

No, the first fight was for the vacant Ring title at 147.

It doesn't matter about the Ring rankings in this case, Erdei beat the man who beat the man who beat the man making him the lineal champion, no matter what the Ring says.

No it wasn't. Vargas-De La Hoya was. Well DLH-Mosley 2 was a title defense for DLH, but he was already champ by beating Vargas.

Yea, Oscar won it against Vagas. But Mosley won 154 ring title against Oscar
