i had a talk with the bringer and explain him about this controversy.
black irish STFU please! PR will claim their own always.our acomplishments will always be our credit not your country. YOUR COUNTRY IS NOT MY COUNTRY. I AM AN AMERICAN CITIZEN BUT IN NO WAY I AM AMERICAN.we decide whatever the **** we want to decide because economically you'll get in a ****ole if we decide being 100% independent.
#2: Puerto Rico's economy aint so hot as I said before, so how exactly would the USA be 'in a ****hole' if Puerto Rico dissapeared?
#3: Puerto Rico pays some taxes to the USA, although they do get a discount. if a Puerto Rican stopped paying those taxes, do you think he wouldnt get in trouble?
the constitution of puerto rico > commonwealth of the US.
say what you want. i don't really give a **** if your country is going to a boxing crisis.
WE ARE PUERTO RICANS AND A NATION.
but I do like you guys, you produce such good fighters.Comment

It's a political debate, a cultural debate, a historical debate, and even a boxing debate, all rolled into one.
It's better than "De Pavlik didn't impress me! I fink Abraham is gon' kill dis' kid!" and "Margarito would've KO'd de' Jennings much faster dan' de' Cotto did!"Comment

#1: If Puerto flat out ignored the President of the United States or the Congress, what do you think would happen? there would be some ass kicking.

America is doing just fine, actually. its a common misconception that America 'always owned boxing'. weve had better moments, but they didnt last forever. I think America is doing rather well, even if I wasnt to include Puerto Rico.

Again, the United States Army brought boxing to PR, and what a wonderful job they did, in that aspect. PR boxers, are American trained.Comment

I think you're severely overanalyzing the situation.
You label us jealous, over what? You say you can come and go as you please, but so can we. No American citizen needs a passport to go to or from Puerto Rico, you just hop on a plane and go.
But you are right on some things, your people have contributed a lot to our Military efforts in the past, in the present, and will continue to do so in the future.
It's not a matter of us being jealous, it's just, we want more. More great Champions in boxing, more dominance of the sport, and even though we're already #1 in terms of producing great Champions, we'd like to have yours as well.
I'm just being a ****, but some of it's true.
My post was a "if the shoe fits post" ...If the shoe doesn't fit why are you even commenting?,,,If someone felt offense its because my statement applies to that individual. The average American is ok with us....I was referring to certain other latinos and the very little population of America that hates.Comment

For the record, America has a fine history of producing great boxing Champions. The misconception is that there is no good American fighters out there now, a simple look at the top 10 P4P would show that Shane Mosley and Bernard Hopkins are both in the top 5.
The only other nation that has more fighters in the top 10 right now is Mexico, with Vazquez, and the Marquez brothers.Comment
