He's called out the champs and top ranked fighters. Ultimately it's up to Cotto now to prove he's a true champ and seek unification on his way to the top, and if Cotto is the fighter I and all his fans believe he is then he will do it, or at least put up one hell of a showing trying to. Cotto/Clottey in June!! Make it happen Arum.
    Thats what i'm SCREAMIN!

      1. Cotto/Cintron both got handed their asses to them by a OVERRATED CHEATER.

      2. Cotto fought TWO gift wins at 147.

      3. Clottey/Williams/Mosley didn't get their asses beat like Cotto/Cintron did.

      4. That's THREE fighters at 147 that gave Margarito fits. Cotto got DESTROYED & he is supposed to be the best?
      5. Hasn't been active since last July which is 1/2 a year!! & he comes back & fights a tune up?

Those are facts not hate. Hate would be me dissing him but in my Posts I did say he was a good fighter but very babied and excused.

Until you can come back with something intelligent fall back and go play ya Xbox SON.
you say cotto had 2 gifts but clotteys biggest wins were gifts diego who was lightweight that jumped to ww and a zab judah that has not won a fight in years and also had to pull out of his fight with shane because of an accident he sustained couple of weeks before his fight with shane which eventually lead to him fighting clottey.
up until recently no one thought clottey won this fight but now he gave margo fits, and for the record i always thought margarito was overrated and that clottey won that fight.
people always say that cotto got his ass whooped but at the same time agree that he won the 1st 6 rounds and if you look at the punch stats cotto out landed margarito 8 rounds to 3

He has a DQ loss to Carlos Baldomir and a decision loss to Antonio Margarito. He doesn't have any embarrassing defeats which to point at so he definitely deserves the shot.

Pointing at Judah as his best win is not an indictment against him, it just shows that he hasn't gotten the big fights he desires.

He was DQ against Baldomir for headbutting aka cheating. He lost to Margarito. So credit for losing. And making excuse but later on everyone just found out he bruised his knuckles.

He got Margarito and he failed when he fought him

I want to see the elites go at it from here on. No more soft touch matches. There are no more excuses for any of the top guys at 147 to be ducking each other anymore. Lets get it on!

This is what I don't get about Mayweather fans, they fault every other fighter who has lost at some point in their career. Realistically, everyone loses at some point if you keep rolling the dice.

I have not seen the Baldomir fight, and I'm fairly certain that you haven't either. I have heard reports that he was ahead in the fight and was disqualified on debatable terms. Then again, I'm saying that this is what I hear.

With regards to Margarito, he KO'ed Cotto in a fight not long ago. Clottey stepped up and fought Margarito at a time when few were taking that fight. Losing is losing, regardless of what circumstances involving your hands, etc. But sometimes you can lose but still win.

In that fight Clottey showed that he had some skill and ability, which shone through in a losing effort.

Joshua Clottey is a title holder at 147 & he did give Antonio Margarito more fits and a closer fight then Miguel Cotto did. We all know that Zab Judah quit because he was getting beat down and faked a accidental head butt. Clottey deserves a shot at Cotto and everyone else at 147 off the strength that he is a champ in that division and is MUCH BETTER & MORE of a test than Michael Jennings. Clottey is right Miguel did fight a NOBODY! A str8t up gift win.
Yep, agreed. The other guy saying Clottey doesn't deserve a shot is kind of forgetting that Clottey is also a belt holder who was beating the bejesus out of Baldomir before they screwed him over with the DQ. He also destroyed Corrales, Judah and was beating the bollocks out of Margarito before the hand injury.

Cotto lost his belt and only just won the vacant WBO belt back against some guy. In all honesty, Clottey's belt was a much better win against a much better fighter.

Clottey is the best fighter at that weight along with Cotto. They should fight. They have to fight!

I think we all want to see Clottey Vs Cotto. That would be a great fight.

Cotto's best win before Mosley was also Judah you silly little prick. What's your point? How is it funny?

Anyway, besides some of the fools saying Clottey doesn't deserve it, this is, without doubt, the best fight that can be made at this weight. They are the two best fighters, assuming Williams is out of the picture, and as the two best, they should be fighting each other.

For those saying Clottey is a cheater, such as the guy above, they have obviously not seen the Baldomir fight. It was Baldomir that should have been DQ'd, not Clottey. It was mainly due to his constant holding and the grabbing around the neck of Clottey that kept on causing them to clash heads. Baldomir was coming in just as bad, but he was also holding incessantly without any warning. The way he was grabbing Clottey to stop the beating he was getting caused the headbutt. Watch the actual fight before commenting like a tool mate.

That fight should not have ended like that, and Clottey should have won that title. Instead it took him nine years to get his winning title shot again. He should have had a WW title for nearly a decade so he more than deserves this shot. Anyone saying otherwise is daft.

Clottey wants it, Cotto called Clottey out after Jenning's, so what's stopping it from being made? Both are the top fighters in the division and both want it.
