And people criticized Taylor's middleweight defenses...

    1. Hopkins (former p4p #1)
    2. Winky (p4p #2)
    3. Ouma (former 154lb titleholder)
    4. Spinks (#1 at 154)
    5. Pavlik (current middleweight champ)

wow. I'd love for all those people who criticized Taylor for fighting THESE guys to show me how Pavlik is even half the champ Taylor was

They did not criticise Taylor for fighting these guys. They criticised him for looking ****ty or worse then he was supposed to. Ofcourse at that point we still did not realize that he has no stamina and his power is overrated, especially for his size.

It's fine who Taylor fought.. What's not cool, is how he looked fighting these guys..

Oh and Taylor lost to Pavlik twice.. including a KO.. so no matter how ****ty Pavlik is.. Taylor is worse..

Taylor did fight very stiff opposition, I always felt that Jermaine took way to much grief for being in close fights, just because he got the victories on the scorecards.

Exactly. Taylor should have steamrolled guys like Ouma and Spinks. Small opponents with little to no punching power. Ouma can take a good shot I'll give JT that, but Taylor should have walked through Spinks. He was there for the taking and Jermain just didn't want to pull the trigger.

Taylor fought some good opponents like Winky, a Hopkins rematch, and even Spinks(who was good back when Taylor fought him). But the problem was, after his fight with Hopkins he looked terrible in every fight he was in. He couldn't even knock out Kassim Ouma.
Pavlik fought two #1 contenders in Lockett and Rubio and has looked excellent both times.

Taylor did not lose as many rounds to B-Hop in 2 fights, as Pavlik lost did in 1. Once again you show a myopic point of view.

If you fight world class opposition it is not always easy to look impressive, could he have looked better against Ouma and Spinks sure, but to me he looked just fine against B-Hop and Winky.

Triangle theory is not nearly as telling as head to head results and Pavlik won two fights, one by devastating knockout.

Ouma (small guy) Wright (small guy) Spinks (small guy)

Pretty soft if you ask me.

That was not my point, my point was that B-Hop is an excellent fighter and Taylor fought him much more well the Pavlik. Triangle theory is about who beats who, I never said anything about Taylor beating Pavlik or being better head to head. Taylor does deserve credit for what he did against B-Hop though, something a lot of people never give him.
