I agree too. If you've got to chose between Eubank and Hopkin, I'll got with Hopkin.
Both Calzaghe and Hopkin were rank among the p4p at the time.
The only complain I don't understand about this fight, is the age of Hopkin!?
At 43 he was rank among the best p4p and he is still today. You can had the fact that not many LHW would be able to win against bhop today speak for itself too.
The only shadow is the SD and cause some doubt.
I realy would see a rematch and even if him cheering for Calzaghe, I would like to see bhop win so it end up in a trilogy!
They would call it: The Trilogy of the semi retire pappy!
      Calzaghe 38 and Hopkin 44!
But still! Both at the top of their game

Does it matter what type of fight it was. Calzaghe was knocked down come back and "won"
Yeah, I think it does matter what type of fight it was. The Eubank win was at least convincing and not even slightly controversial. But anyways... we best agree to differ on this, because not everyone is convinced of Calzaghe's win over Hopkins (as you are obviously not yourself), hence the reason for my swaying slightly towards saying Eubank was the better win overall. BTW, I do think Calzaghe deserved the W over Hopkins, but only just.

Looking at this from the perspective of how I'd feel about those fights if I was Calzaghe, would I be proud to say I'd managed to sc**** a dodgy split decision over Hopkins at 43 years old, or would I be more proud to say I clearly beat a slightly-past-prime-but-incredibly-strong version Eubank who I knocked on his ass twice when I was a young kid just coming up? I can't help swaying further towards the latter victory. I know Hopkins is a bigger name, but the name is not everything, when all things are considered. If it was, Calzaghe's best win would actually be... Roy Jones! LOL. So he shut out old Roy... big deal. He sc****d past old Hopkins... big deal. He clearly beat a good version of Eubank... it's a solid win he can be proud of.

His best win clearly was his winning over so many fans in the gay community despite having a resume full of hand picked bums and nobodies.

Calzaghe isn't 38. Hopkins is 44. Calzaghe fans always try to make Joe seem a little older then he really was. Not accusing you of being a Calzaghe butt rubber because I know your not.

I don't care about where people were rated P4P; those ratings told me in the late 80s that Azumah Nelson was barely top ten when he was really top three.
The same Kessler who's still fighting like a prospect in Denmark? Sorry Kessler never was or will be a good enough fighter. Unless you like long fights where you have the eminent feeling they could fight for 30 rounds and no KO would come.

He wasn't saying that. He was saying if they fought again and it became a trilogy, they'd probably be 38 and 44. Who gives a **** anyway.

Kessler is teetering towards Lacy level. A guy who beat mediocre super middle competition and little else. I still hold out hope for him though - he was in NY a few months ago making the rounds at press conferences, fights, etc. I get the feeling he doesn't wanna go out like that.
