I will give Cotto a solid B! He did what he needed to do.

I would say one more tune up. I think he can beat the names he mentioned. But honestly I think he can lose those fights as well. I'm not sure if he's ready for war. I mean if he fights Berto now that would be an all out war. That's a dangerous fight. I would take Clottey before if I was Cotto because he's a fighter who doesn't go all out. I'm not sure if he's recovered from the Margarito fight.

I will say I will give him an B... it is hard to say it was the best performance of his life because of it being Michael Jennings and all but he has shown character from coming back from his recent loss and getting over those mental scars, it was an easy victory because his opponent wasn't on his level but we have to consider it was just a confidence build up.

Cotto at first was picking his punches fighting a smart fight, not getting careless and waiting for an opening where he can catch his opponent with a good shot and unleash on him, so in a way he fought a good intelligent fight to come away with the win.

I would of gave him an A for how he fought, he was more cautious and fought with a lot more intelligence and you could see he has improved on his defense more, it was a good KO victory where he shown he had a lot of skills as a fighter... however due to the quality of his opponent I can't bring myself by saying it was an A because of the performance because we all knew it would have been an easy fight for him... in which I brought it down to a B to kind of cancel it out (if that makes sense).

        There my thoughts anyway.

Yeah that's a good point. He was a lot more cautious. Which is a good thing he learned from the Marg fight. Why take risks when you can beat a guy without being touched?

This new Cotto was more cautious than the old relentless one, in the end he made the dude bleed and then stop the guy, so a B would be apropiate giving the fact that he's coming off a brassknuclet loss to Margacheato!

I think a guy like Cintron would be good for him now, pretty big fight in MSG in June too on the eve of the Puerto Rican Day parade or a guy like Soto Karass who is good but not very good before taking on either Clottey or Berto and I think a Berto fight would be the easier of the two honestly.

Exactly, I see him facing harder competition now to be honest... this was merely a confidence builder (all due respect to Jennings), Cotto has also gained a lot of my respect from what he has been saying about Arum regarding the Margarito incident... it kinda shows you what kind of guy he really is.

With Berto though I see his speed being a problem for Cotto. Berto really impressed me last fight with his heart, chin, and determination. He recovered from a big time shot, and was gassed. To me its more dangerous because this would be a fast pace fight. With Clottey the pace would be much slower and more thought out, something that could favor Cotto.

Clottey is more durable than Berto, has fought the better opponents, has better defense and is a big welterweight, stylistically, he's a tough fight for everyone.

Collazo is a good fighter but Berto struggling that badly with Collazo signifies to me that he needs more time before stepping into the ring against a top welterweight and I think if Berto had been in the ring that night against Cotto, he would have gotten knocked out. Berto's speed would give Cotto problems but after a few rounds of getting pounded to the body by Cotto, Berto starts gassing and gets sloppy then gets knocked out, that's how I see a Berto-Cotto fight going right now.

A Clottey fight is a toss up to me and would probably be a tough fight to score because Cotto would probably have the higher workrate but Clottey would probably be the more accurate and Clottey has the type of defense to neutralize a body attack which would give Cotto a lot of problems, he's a big welterweight which would wear on Cotto as the fight goes on and likes to put pressure on opponents which seems to bother Cotto, especially late in his fights, his pressure isn't as intense as Margarito's but it's sustained pressure nonetheless.
