easy my friend, the top dogs at ww are next. patience is a virtue, temptation will hurt you.Everybody is talking about Cotto is back and better than ever but how could you know if he fought a soft touch opponent? The only way to know if Cotto is 100% is for him to fight someone in the elite. Gomez/Jennings? Hopefully Arum doesn't set up another predictable fight like this one.
and im glad cotto finally called out names instead of the usuall "i fight whoever the company puts in front of me"Comment

You can't win when you fight against a journeyman, but as a confidence building fight it was fine.Comment

omg i thought i was the only one in the world thought he look sloppy at time. first, he looked slow compared to his last fight. he wasn't as sharp punching. but he did look physically strong as hell! alot muscular. or maybe just the tighter shorts. but oh man! that left hook. even though he's my favorite fighter. i've always thought his left hook to be a bit overhyped. but did it ever so up! i think he can crumble any welterweight with it.Comment

That's great that two elite prime fighters ranked number one and number two in the division battled it out for the prestigious belt. Cotto was hoping to win it in his box of cheerios but in the end he had to fight the best opponent in the world.Comment

I dont see how people say cotto looked sluggish. I was there last night and wasnt anything sluggish about it. Jennings was on his toes alot so it wasnt like miguel wasnt chasing him, but overall when you break a guy down, win almost every round, and score the ko before the fights is even halfway over its kind of hard to see the harm in that. He looked strong, he once again did a great job of selling tickets as once again there were many puerto ricans out to support him( duddy had some following too) , and hes still to me the best welterweight in the world. For people asking if hes ready for mosely, you must forget that two years ago he was ready. I would hope cotto fights berto as that seems alot easier and gets us a belt, if he takes the cintron fight ill be a litttle dissappointed as i dont feel thats the fight for him, and clottey would be just as tough as mosely so for that id rather fight shane. We'll know soon but overall i say miguel was fine, he took care of business, didnt get hit to much , and looked strong and in shape. The fans came out to support him still, hes still the man to beat at 147 and ill be back in june to se him too. Duddy looked sluggish, dont htink hes ready to fight pavlik or anybody. But i must say he had a nice little section of fans who were loud...they were in theseats above me and they represented. But when miguel came out theres nothing like hearing that crowd erupt!!!Comment

Brillant performace from Cotto, but it hards to say whether the Margarito performance has effected him mentalliy.
As i said from dayone, i know anything can happen in boxing, but Jennings dosen't have chance, as he had at times struggled with british level fighters, and never even fought out of the, UK, and has never been tested near Cotto's level.
Come fight time, Cotto looked like a Middlweight and Jennings looked like a LW. Jennings showed a ton of heart, but was just completey outclassed form the opening bell, and didn't trouble Cotto 1% and Cotto just looked so much bigger than him and Cotto was just so much better than him in every area.
Jennings would try and box, but at times i just though he was happy just not getting hit and was happing surviving, and everytime Cotto would hit his head would jolt back and as soon as the body shots landed it was over.
This would pretty close to a mismatch, and i'am looking foward to Cotto maybe fighting a Joshua Clottey next, someone who wll test him. and see if the Margarito loss has took anything out of him.
But Jennings earned his money, and can now go back to britain and hopefully fight Kell Brook.Last edited by Southpaw16BF; 02-22-2009, 11:37 AM.Comment
