Hopkins thinks Joe was a harder fighter

You know Roy Jones was more green. He had less fights. And he beat him easily and wouldn't change if they fought againComment
-
How was Roy Jones more green? They were both young, but Roy Jones was a better fighter in 1993.
What was Hopkins doing when Roy Jones was boxing in the Olympics? Hmm?Comment
-
Roy Jones has fewer fighters, how was he not green.
When RJJ was in the amatuers in 88, Hopkins started his pro careerComment

So less fights means you are green then? So what you are saying is that every fighter progresses at the same rate? Unfortunately that is not the case. The 1993 Roy Jones is much closer to the dominant Roy Jones from 94 onwards than the 1993 B-Hop is to the one that ruled the MW class.
Watch B-Hop in the RJJ fight then compare it with him against Tito. Very different fighters.
Btw, the bolded text has shown up your lack of boxing knowledge. Hopkins first pro bout was in Oct, 1988 at LHW, which he lost. He took over a year off and won his first pro fight in Feb, 1990.
Roy Jones on the other hand had won United States National Junior Olympics as early as 1984 and by Feb, 1990 had a pro record of 6-0 and would another 5 by the end of the year.
Hardly inexperienced was he? If his father hadn't been so overprotective, he would have been world champion before the B-Hop fight.Comment

The point being Roy Jones had far more boxing experience when they fought in 1993. You really should read all of people's posts, it saves you asking silly questions that have already been answered.Comment

Jones was not green compared to Hopkins, because Jones had an extensive amateur career and, he had been trained by his father (an ex pro) since the age of 7.
Mayweather and Jones could of probably won a world title after about 10 Pro fights,if they had been thrown in sooner.
Hopkins would of never won a world title with so little Pro experience. Hopkins admitted himself he went through changes as a fighter to improve.Comment
