How many Cuban fighters have there been in the history of the sport, professionally? The number is miniscule compared to the other ethinic groups in the sport. You do know that Cuban fighters are not allowed to turn pro right? If they were, they would probably take over the sport. Cubans have dominated amateur boxing for generations. If that's news for you, please delete your account immediately.
P4P Cuba would rule professional boxing if they were allowed to turn pro!

I'm not saying Cubans wouldn't have a solid impact on the sport but the underlines, bolded part of your statement is simply speculation on what could happen. I prefer to debate what actually has happened. And on that note, the United States, Mexico, and Puerto Rico have been kicking ass in this sport since it's inception. How many Cuban fighters have there been in the history of the sport, professionally? My statemtent was based on "if". Your countered with what "has" happened. You are an idiot.I'm not saying Cubans wouldn't have a solid impact on the sport but the underlines, bolded part of your statement is simply speculation on what could happen. The argument here is IF Cubans were in the sport for as long as everyone else, if they were allowed to turn pro just like EVERYONE else and if they were promoted like EVERYONE else they would, as a whole, be the P4P boxing country in the professional boxing world! And it doesn't take one to watch boxing tonight to realize this. If you have any knowledge of Cuban boxing you would know this. The Cubans live boxing.Last edited by El Chicano; 02-21-2009, 03:11 AM.Comment

They have Donaire, he is a good fighter, but the thing is the MEX vs PI world cup was a joke, they had bums fighting bums until the last 2 fights, if they really wanted to do a MEX vs PI get the top guys in the division fighting each other, Pinoys won't have much left after Manny (sad but true) because Donaire can only move up so much, if he or Penalosa fight Vazquez/MarquezHow does Mexico get topped by the Philippines? Aside from Pacquiao beating Morales, Barrera, and Marquez I mean.
Mexico has Salvador Sanchez, Julio Cesar Chavez, Carlos Zarate, Ricardo Lopez, Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Ruben Olivares, etc, etc, etc....
The Philippines has Manny Pacquiao.......and...........uhm...........give me a minute here.......................uh..................... ....hmmmmmm..............????
they would be done, don't want to sound like a prick but most of their fighters just can't make it to the top or deal with the elite which in the lower weight classes are mostly Mexican or PR.Comment

Not necessarily he beat 3 top fighters (in CLOSE fights mainly JMM) , Larios, Velazquez, Jorge Solis weren't TOP fighters from Mexico, I can say Mexico is OWNING PI, because we have 2 fighters beating all the filipinos they have faced (Ulisses Solis and Edgar Sosa I think) but to me honestly doesn't really matter.Comment

Ok, but as good as they are as amateurs, give them the opportunity to turn pro and what do you get?
My point is, they do not get the chance to turn pro!
I don't understand ur statement. Are you saying that good amateurs are not good pros?Comment
