I've never thought he ducked Joe, that would be a crazy claim to make.

If Joe wanted to fight Jones he would've moved up to 175, fought a contender or two and made his name

Agreed, I guess. Mind you, that was his stated motive for making the fight with Johnson, in order to get to fight Jones - then he got that back injury and I guess after that he lost his ambitiousness for a while. I think he was pretty depressed around that time.

Also, I think he may have wanted to fight Roy without having to give up his Super-Middleweight belt; and the route you suggest would have forced him to give up that belt.

It is a shame but it is what it is. Calzaghe has earned his hall of Fame credentials but when stacked up against his ATG peers, he ultimately falls short because of that.

Holmes and Alis names should not be in the same sentence as Calzaghe or even that of Johnson and to make it fare some would say the same about Jones.

People wont remember little ol' Joe Calzaghe's name like Holmes or Ali 10-20 years from now. Only reason I say Jones would be remembered is because what he did in weight no one did in 100 plus years. That's what will carry his name along with his talent. Truth. no love, no hate.

No matter what Joe will do he wont get the love. Its not hate its truth. Same will most likely go for PBF who will always be loved or hated no matter what he does (mainly because of his **** talking).
