Joe Calzaghe Felt Chad Dawson Wasn't Ready Yet

i think his comments about dawson not being ready is disrespect to his opponent. who does he think he is telling the other guy is not ready? he is NOT unbeatable. belittling your opponents skills is probably a ploy to hide the boxers insecurities about himself. man up or shut up dudeComment

no lewis was not way behind on points.he was behind on two points at the most and that was because of a slow start
the fight was stopped after six rounds.Which meant that there still six rounds left to go
HALF THE FIGHT so there was plenty of time left for lewis
lennox had taken the fight over by the fifth round and was starting to dominate
and when lewis found his rythem,he usually didn't step out of it
lewis's jab did that to vitali's eye and remember thatComment

There may have been plenty of time as you say, but he looked pretty whacked to me at the end of the sixth round, and I'm not convinced he could have gone another six if he'd had to. I think if there had been a rematch, he'd have been the narrow betting favourite, but only narrow. And I do realise he'd under-trained for that fight - but then again, he was nearly 40, and who knows whether his age would have got to him in a rematch?Comment

You got to ask yourself this...Boxing Experts are not always right. I dont follow anybody's view but my own. You cant expect the experts to bad mouth any one. That could affect the views from the fans of the ones they bad mouth. Sugar coating does happen. The boxing public knows what happens. Thats why we have mixed views. Do a poll and see if Joe is Over or Under rated and see what you get. Everone cant be wrong. Look at his record on boxingrec.com and see what made him great. B class fighterComment

Chad Dawson has matched himself against some serious veterans and hung tough. He's also easily beaten champs in his own generation like Adamek. He's an accomplished amateur - a blue chip prospect - who was highly touted heading into the pros. 26 years old, 28-0 and a world champ. It's his pedigree that Floyd Mayweather sees that makes him exaggerate - when's the last time Floyd fawned over a fighter? You can't buy the kind of ring generalship Dawson has cultivated. Don't get me wrong there are flaws in his game that a Calzaghe or Hopkins could take advantage of. But if he loses, it damn sure won't because he's not ready.Comment
