Well because circle jerk Calzaghe fans overrate Hopkins to make his win seem that much more impressive.

he came on strong in the sceond half of BOTH those fights against taylor. midway through the first fight, i had it 3-3, but hops dominated the second half.....i thought taylor fought handled the pressure better in the second fight, which was close. hopkins definitely won the first fight.

kessler is becoming the new margarito on here.....dude has done jack ****, and mark my words- is OVERRATED. he lost his only fight w/ someone of significance, and has built a resume largely of fighting "mickey mouses and donald ducks" as hopkins calls them........mikkel kessler has never even sniffed the p4p list, ever........gimme a ****in break.

His performance against Calzaghe was one of the most laziest and disgraceful performances I've ever seen.
Actually it was ok, not his best by no means but it wasn't Winky Wright bad. Many thought he won that fight and rest assured, an younger = more active Bernard would UD Calzaghe that night if not TKO him. Calzaghe won on workrate only and that's debatable although i give him credit for the W. His performance vs Pavlik was very impressive and full credit to Bernard for that W although i must say Pavlik was a little green coming in. That said he was completely outclassed that night. Again a prime Hopkins would have stopped Pavlik with no problems in 6 rounds at most.

a prime b-hop would've stopped calzaghe too......he should've had him after that knockdown. i agree with your whole post.

Hopkins is not overrated he is just a 100% respected. Dont confuse respect with overrating. Hopkins is not exciting too watch, because his style is based on breaking his opponents rhythm up, but he is one of the best fighters ever at doing what he does........and he is still winning fights at 40+.

              You gotta respect that ?

Hopkins has earned every ounce of respect he's finally getting on this forum.

And anybody who doesn't recognize that Hopkins is a top 50 All Time Great knows nothing about this sport. He's been a shoe in for the last 6 years. This Tarver, Wright, and Pavlik win streak is just the icing on the cake.

i think bernard hopkins already proved worthy or his status along time ago by knocking felix trinidad out and cleaning out the middleweight division besides the 2 close fighst to jermain taylor i think he should haved won the first taylor fight

B-Pop being overrated only adds to Calzaghe's legacy.
And then, you have people talking trash about Calzaghe while hugging B-Pop's balls. LoL! I find it very amusing.
