Why is it that with your fighters if they are from England they are British, but if they are from Wales they are Welsh?

We call Calzaghe British because he was Born in England and Lived in Wales, it's the most accurate discription.

Its funny how boxing is a bit of an exception there. I normally find that if a Welsh, Scottish or N.Irish sportsman is successful, the national press hails 'a great British sportsman', but when an Englishman succeeds, he's English. Really annoys me!

Im from Holland, I just find it strange, and how Calzaghe has the Welsh anthem and like against Jones he had welsh and italian flag on shorts, no union flag, no mention of britain like he was snubbing the english.

Or he could be really proud of his adopted country, nothing bad about that.

I think it is, all English fighters have to represent the union of britain, but not the others, If he even had a tiny union flag on his shorts but nothing.

well i am of the belief that you're ancestry and where you are raised and live is part of who you are,

my friend has a very welsh name and her parents are as welsh as they come. she however was born in china. she isn't Chinese lol.

I love the Dutch
they embrace Gully like im one of there own..
They have pictures of me in various coffee shops around the Dam.
Plus i have friends that live out there and i own a little apartment
in dunrell Rotterdam which i rent out..

And my Friend who is welsh said in football it wouldnt matter if England were playing Robert Mugabe 11 they would want england to loose, I find this hatred toward england strange, what has it done to deserve this hatred?
