You are missing the point the poster said WE (being "british") were adopting Jennings as one of our own, when he already is! And the Cotto thing was just a comment in that the tone of some posters suggests he is treated as one of your own (if he the poster I quoted is Puerto Rican then fine, I stand corrected over such a minor point) I was talking more generally and as most of his fights have been in the states (pick that apart and will I don’t have time to check how many he had at home), then he is likely to be embraced by you it wasn’t a critiscm more a comment that’s all. Additionally my "statement" wasn’t one of fact more my opinion therefore how can that be false?

For your information Puerto Rican's are American Citzens, as far as I was aware (as I believe they can be drafted into your army as well) therefore technically he is American (if you want to get picky). In the same way someone born in Northern Ireland is Northern Irish but also British. Or someone born in Gibraltar I believe is a British citzen.
Anyways I would rather talk about the fight.
I've always thought of someone born in Ireland, Wales, Scotland etc as Welsh, Scotish or Irish and not British. The difference between PR and Ireland and the like are that Wales, Scotland etc are classed as entire countries in themselves.

        Right....

Firstly calling Jennings British rather than English.
Secondly use the Gibraltar example rather than northern ireland if you want then...when comparing PR to America.
