Vargas was a bit too green when he stepped in the ring with Tito and never really fully recovered from that loss. Then the steroid thing is a really dark cloud over his career. I'm not sure how I'd rate his career.

His career was a 5...his skill level an 8 his heart and desire were a 10 no doubt...but so was his ****iness and ******ity...****iness only works when you back it up...kid never learned from his mistakes either...a smart figher fights the good fight and if he loses so be it but you are supposed to learn from your mistakes...over all he was a fighter that could have been but just wasnt

He Had a good career. Im from his hood Da Nard and he is a punk ass. He was way too ****y and I think you guys are mistaking heart with ignorance or ******ity. Heart would have been to box against Tito and if he got caught continue to box til what ever the outcome was.

Look at the oscar fight he was throwing flurries but his accuracy was ****.

I would say about a 7. He was obviously very talented but had poor discipline in big moments which cost him his career IMO. Still very few fighters in history have had the type of start to a career like Vargas had fighting so many good fighters while he was still a little green and he dominated them all! It will be a long time i think until we see a run of first 20 fights like the one Vargas had!

I don't know about his potential, but I was never very impressed with Vargas. To this day his biggest win (Wright) was either a Loss or at best a draw in my eyes. And how can we forget the steroid situation.
