This is exactly what is wrong with modern boxing and in particular the heavy weight division. The Paris peace talks proceeded quicker & smoother than these negotiations. Who really needs to hear the heavyweight champ complaining about everything. Keep talking, make resonable terms, make the fight and lets see who deserves to be called CHAMP. Damned Politics are out of control...it's embarrassing for a fight fan. ENOUGH...LET'S GET IT ON CHAMP!!!!

But, hasn't even earned his shot!
There are precedents for a Cruiserweight "earning his shot" before fighting for the Heavyweight title, notably Holyfield, but there are also many precedents for a dominant champion moving up in weight and fighting for a title immediately, without any tune-ups at all - e.g. Michael Spinks vs. Larry Holmes, or Bob Foster vs. Frazier, or Manny Pacquiao vs. Ricky Hatton; and I don't see why either strategy is necessarily wrong. Haye is a gambler by nature and always wants to fight the best in the division, and good luck to him, I say, I think that attitude is refreshing. Maybe he'd do better if he had two more fights first, as you say, but most boxing fans would like to see the fight made now, and given his personality, I don't see what's wrong with that. As for the hate posts about his trash talking, it's obvious that's just to hype the fight, and he's doing a good job of hyping it, even if Booth is doing a bad job at the negotiating table.

You seem to be a Haye nuthugger.

He doesn't want to "fight the best", he just wants to cash out against a Klitschko! Oh, I know he SAYS that, but who is so naive as to believe him anymore?

Last fall, he turned down Tony Thompson, Eddie Chambers, James Toney and even Kevin Johnson, and instead settled on Monte Barrett, someone he was sure he could beat. I was following the events closely, and it was some of the most cautious, fearful matchmaking I've ever seen. Check these threads:

You saying Haye was being cautious who he fights in his second ever heavyweight contest? Damn right he was and he should be. The hype surrounding Haye is really big and as Unified Cuiserweight he deserves it but after only testing himself again Tomasz 'The Top 10 Bum' Bonin he needed someone like Barrett that he could blast in five.

Yet straight away he went and has tried to fight the two feared brothers and you are calling him fearful? Lmfao gtfo of here, normally your posts aren't too bad but this is disgraceful.

Haye will fight them, he's not fearful of people like Toney/Thompson etc... If they had belts at Heavyweight and were considered the best you can bet your arse he'd be knocking on their door too.

barrett was there to be beaten.

Exactly. Tunney can't be impartial when it comes to the Klitschko brothers. He needs to understand David Haye really wants this fight, the Klitschko people are the ones trying to have an easy way out and keep the belts in the family. Imagine if Lennox Lewis would have done this to Vitali, demanding 2 rematch clauses so he was sure Klitschko would not be the HW champion not even after 3 fights (has to vacant due to them rematches). This is like high******* the HW division! Absolutely disgraceful. How can one grow respect for the brothers (Klistchko's) when they try to run an entire division like this? Seems like a closed show now (even their latest opponents are now sparing partners), a very poor show.

Throughout 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002 Wladimir tried to get a fight with Lewis, and also with Tyson and Holyfield.

Wlad has 52 wins at heavyweight, Haye has two: one over a bum (Bonin) and one over a journeyman (Barrett, who Wlad KOed a prime version of in 2000).

Wlad has paid his dues, earned his world titles as much as anybody ever has. He has to beat Peter to win the right to fight Byrd for the IBF title, and since then he's taken care of his mandatories.

Haye has earned nothing. For years he fought at cruiserweight, because he knew his chin isn't good enough for heavyweight. Now he can't make 200, so he wants to CASH OUT with a big money fight against Wlad or Vitali.

Lmfao at the idea of Wlad fighting Lewis. That would have been the shortest fight in History.

Vitali had a big chance vs 37 year old Lewis, why can't his brother also give chances like that? Haye is very exciting and the way boxing works today is no longer "get in line and wait" but rather "make some noise to be noticed". Ask around who people want to see Wladimir fight and they will say Haye. Yes Haye haven't earned it like the old school guys did but this is the fight people want to see, the fight Wladimir said he wanted and now he doesn't seem to want it all that much. 2 rematch clauses is like saying "I don't want to fight you". Would you fight the same guy and his brother 3 times to be forced to vacate the belts each time you failed to defend it because you have to fight them again? I think this is unprecedented, usually fighters ask for more money, why are these guys trying to be creative all of a sudden?! Just make this fight happen, the HW division needs this fight. Add to that Wlad is in his HW prime, he won't get better with age from now on. He should take the fight rather sooner than later. I think he's just hoping Haye will lose against someone else and go away. What if he doesn't? He will have to fight him eventually, even the German crowd will demand that if Haye keeps winning, and maybe then Wladimir will regret he didn't face David in 09.

Wlad's padded record suggests fighting the best isn't on his agenda. He can fight another 30 fights and he still won't sc**** into the top 25 all time great heavies. Posters like tunney make me embarrassed to say i was once a fan of Wlad

                      Wlad is a true *****.

Vitali is the true warrior - but he gets injured too often.

                      Haye for president.
