Some good sparring there especaily for Vitali, Byrd can definatly mimick Gomez, and Thompson is coming of world title fight and is another awakard southpaw.

Definatly a twist in the fighters sparring as Gomez has beat Virchis in his last bout, and Wlad has beat Byrd x2 Byrd has beat Vitali, and Wlad has beat Thompson.

Vitali picked up good sparring partners.

Gomez not so much. He needs someone much faster than Virchis to prepare for Vitali. *****ko would be a good choice, maybe someone 6'7" too, to adjust to the size. I think he may use Kretchman as well.

Byrd has excellent defensive skills from a southpaw stance, so he should help Vitali prepare. My only concern is whether Vitali can hit the slick Gomez enough - although JC isn't all that fast, he has good defensive technique.

that's a smart move by vitali.those are 2 solid sparring partners.he'll be ready for gomez but gomez is a solid boxer with deceptive speed & power.a 12 round decision upset isn't out of the question.peter stood in front of vitali,gomez won't.vitali has 1 fight in 4years & peters decent but was a perfect stationary target for him.this could be interesting.I wonder how gomez's chin will hold up?
