I think a lot of people see his unbeaten record and think he can't be beaten, but he can.

In the amateurs he had all sorts of issues going up against southpaws with jabs and lateral movement. The shoulder roll defense doesn't work against southpaw jabs, you have to block a right jab by keeping your gloves up and picking them off.

I think Mosley would beat him, he throws punches from all sorts of angles, has a hell of a chin and is pretty quick. He's also stronger than Mayweather. You can't throw punches from normal angles and beat Mayweather, you have to mix it up and punch when he doesn't expect you to punch.

The way Mayweather fought DLH, I could tell the strength difference made him uncomfortable. Mosley would be hell for him.

Since he has such excellent defensive skills, you would need to fight a pressure fight, not just swinging, but controlled punches at the right time. pressure him, and when he starts to come forward, pressure again. Left hooks are the key, he always does the shoulder roll to his right side. But to have an effective left hook, you would have to be able to switch to southpaw style and feel comfortable. Don't expect the fight to be fast, we are talking about 7 to 8 rounds before you start to see the effects. Rights to the body, left hooks, right jabs.

why does everyone think he is so god? calzaque deserves more credit than mayweather. mayweather even isn't that fast, i''ve see faster. Mosley has the best chance of beating Mayweather, i agree with you, to beat Floyd you need physical advantages because pound for pound their isn't a fighter as good defensively, as focused and as complete, He's almost like a smaller version of Hopkins with better speed and reflexes

Everytime I see a mayweather fight, the other fighter always thinks that "I have to go forward and turn it into a brawl!" that is always the wrong move. it is just what mayweather wants. I think the key to beating mayweather is to make HIM go forward. Everytime I see him go forward, he looks confused and not as fast. I think that is the way to beat him.

floyd is a boxing genius and can fight going backwards or forwards.

against defensive boxers floyd is equally at ease in offense as well as defense.

It doesnt really matter. If you go defensive, floyd will potshot you and rack up rounds. Then you will be forced to come forward with an over-aggressive offense and get KTFO (a la Hatton).

If you go offensive, floyd will pick you apart with accurate counter-punches. Once you gass from punches you dont see coming and missing every punch you throw, floyd will up the pace and beat you up.

To beat floyd you need to

1) have a chin that can wistand floyd's offense
2) have enough stamina to go 12 full rounds and not gas
3) have enough speed to land your punches
4) have a lot of power to hurt floyd even with glancing blows

even if you have all 4 of these, there's a good chance floyd will out-think you and outbox you anyways. just look at pbf's opponents

hatton: chin not good enough, don't punch hard enough, result = KTFO
dlh: stamina not good enough, result = SD
baldomir: no speed, no power, result = UD
judah: no stamina, no chin = UD
etc...

this is why mosley and pac are the best guys to give floyd a loss, because both guys have 1-4, but at best they get a SD against floyd because floyd is a boxing genius.

as for the case of PBF/JLC I... floyd had a problem with his rotator cuff or something. floyd beat JLC convincing when healthy in the rematch.
