I made that point yesterday when someone claimed Floyd is the biggest draw in boxing, despite the fact that his last paydays were against Oscar/Hatton lol

Yeah, I see that the UK PPV buys significantly exceeded those of the US for his last fight. Though of course when you say that you can expect a nonsensical "that's cos the UK only hav three fiter's" reponse.

Selling tickets has no real bearing to Floyds fanbase. He is loved by the blacks in USA and has a lot of respect in the hip hop circuits.

            1. In his prime SRL was a WW, not a MW. That is not ducking. The top fighters at 147 were Benitez, Hearns and Duran (he stepped up). Leonard beat them all. Hardly ducking comp like Mayweather has.

            2. When he did fight Hagler it was only his 2nd fight in 5 years.

You're right, 850K U.S. buys was all because of Hatton and his following in the U.S.

I can't even turn my head on the streets these days without seeing someone wearing a Hatton t-shirt or talking about Hatton.

Hatton is bigger than Lebron and Kobe right now, he's bigger than MJ ever was.

This last SuperBowl had the worst ratings ever cuz all of the Americans were on Boxing Scene trying to get more info about Ricky Hatton because that's all that's on Americans minds right now.

              I NEED MORE RICKY HATTON!!

Floyd wasn't a big draw, when it came to PPV's and selling tickets.

You miss the point.... it was 850K in the US, but 1.25m in the UK. And bear in mind that the £ was then worth $2.

Mayweather won't even get in the ring with a true, elite WW, nevermind stand toe-to-toe with the greatest LW of AT. Big difference between the two.
Was he willing to fight Aaron Pryor, or did he dodge him like the plague?
