He isn't realistically going to attempt that, is he? I mean, you'd think he knows that Paulie didn't have much to hurt him with and that Pac would be a different matter altogether...but you never know with Ricky.

Sometimes I wonder about him...his perception of his own strengths and weaknesses, I mean.

Months spent under the tutelage of Mayweather Sr. notwithstanding...he's going to come out to smother and maul the **** out of Pac, isn't he?

      Isn't he?

People thought he was crazy to box Paulie and for large spells totally out boxed him.

I wonder what'll be running threw everyone's head when Pac can't find the distance against Hatton LOL

Hatton will be close enough to dry hump him

Duke...I appreciate that Hatton has been unfairly characterized as less accomplished a boxer than he really is (ie. NO skills, club fighter, etc.), but the only guy he's put a clean boxing exhibition on since stepping up to elite level is Malignaggi. And Paulie isn't a dangerous guy in that real, imminently threatening sense. I see Hatton being punished if he brings the same fight to Manny that he brought to Paul.

Easy to do when your opponent has barely any power at all, you can walk right through everything he's got. Man, before the fight it was obvious (at least to me it was) that Hatton would smash Paulie around the ring, Paulie had no chance because Rick had nothing to fear whatsoever. This just isn't the case with Pac, so it's impossible to compare the two fighters or look at it from the perspective of what he did in the Malignaggi fight. It just won't play out like that.

Ricky doesnt need to be as fast as Pac to be effective in this fight. If he carries on were he left off against Paulie he will be timing Pac and busting him mup with the jab alone - A well timed jab can neutralise any amount of speed. What do you mean he's never performed at Pac's level?? he's the top dog at 140lb - he's fought the best fighter in the world in PBF...if anything pac hasnt performed at Ricky's level yet.
first ricky needs to perform a whole lot better against pac than he did aginst malignaggi. pac will out jab him all night and use his straight. paulie was a one handed fighter that looked out of his depth, i assure you pac aint. 2nd hatton has not competed at the level of pac, well he has in mayweather but he lost, castillo shot, pac wins all his big fights.

Hatton better believe he can box with Pac, otherwise he is getting ripped coming in.

He needs to stick that heavy, jolting jab in Pacman's face.

Hatton is a far better boxer than most give him credit for. My guess he will box and brawl and he will do it effectively.

I agree with you. I've seen lots of his early fights and I always said he can box pretty well when he wants to. It just seems that, most of the time, he doesn't want to.

I dunno about totally. I was always concerned for Paul ahead of that matchup, that he would start bright and smart but get discouraged quickly by the threat of Ricky's physicality...the ****ty state of his hands means that Paulie has so little in the way of offense, his confidence to punch with any kind of authority or put together combinations is shot. It's crippling his chances in fights, even against guys he should be beating more widely (compare the first N'Dou fight to the rematch, see the narrow escape against a tough, good but unspectacular Ngoudjo). Ricky boxed well, but I saw so much of hesitancy and lack of confidence in Paul...so much comes down to his hands...if one thing is wrong, the psychology follows that everything else goes to ****.

Pac's a threat. He's got a whole bunch offensively. No danger of his confidence suffering on the quiet this last 18 months.
